The video for Daydreaming crushed me. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing though.

Yeah, wow. True love waits twenty years but big ideas only take ten.

So we've got videos for the first two in order. I wonder if they're doing one for every song like they were talking about doing with OK Computer way back when.

I'll wait for the physical release, but might sneak in a few online listens if there's a YouTube upload.

i believe it's on apple music and tidal and is likely to be on spotify soon enough. but it's not on the coldplay streaming service because that just streams coldplay at $300 a month.

well who is? it's just convenient.

the boys have made a killer record here. gorgeous ultra low-key melancholic psychedelia. melanchodelia. psycholic.

it's interesting that they seem to bounce between these cohesive records and more collections of songs type records.

like bends, ok computer, kid a, in rainbows, and moon pool are all cohesive experiences.

pablo honey, amnesiac, httt, and king of limbs are like song collections.

Yeah, really liked it on the first listen. Definitely feels more like a record than King of Limbs.

King Of Limbs felt more like an extended EP for me than it did an album. Some standout tracks but I found myself going back to In Rainbows after two or three months.

agreed on the extended ep notion. perhaps if they had included the two songs from that single they released after the album it would have felt more like an album album, but i doubt it.

    Agreed.

In fact, i'd go as far as saying Amnesiac feels more like an album despite having felt more like a cobbled collection of leftovers from Kid A...which it mostly happens to be the nature of that project.

i'll say that amnesiac is probably the most cohesive of the song collection albums.

so if you order the DEELUGGS version, you get all this stuff, including a second disc with two extra songs. i wonder if one of the songs will be "lift", which is probably one of their oldest unreleased thingies. i read somewhere that it was one of the songs they were working on during the sessions.

here's some version of lift from i dunno when:

new version would probably sound radically different

EDIT: ok, people are blowing up the picture of the DELUGGS edition and it looks like the two extra tracks are "spectre" and "a wind(?)". so maybe no lift. unless lift has been re-lyriced. "stuck...in a wind...?"

I like The King of Limbs but I've made a playlist adding and removing a few things.

Swap Supercollider in for Bloom (I don't like it), put Staircase after Little By Little, and add The Butcher after Feral. Throw The Daily Mail in there somewhere on the second half and... Tada! <3

I've listened to it twice now and second time was better than the first. I really like its cohesive dark kinda melancholy. It sounds a lot more organic with the strings and piano than the clickity clickity stuff. I don't think there's as many standout songs in the kinda codex/reckoner/videotape post kid a mode, but as a whole it really works as an album. Need to listen some more to pick out my favourite tracks but I think there's only two or three that are probably future guaranteed skippers
