Saw this cover art at The Digital Bits. I don't know anything about this release other then the cover and the release date, August 29th.

I remember watching parts of this on AMC many years ago. Never finished the entire thing.

    Is it any good?

Lucas tried to get this film made for almost twenty years--i remember reading an interview with him after the release of American Graffiti where he said his next film would be a slapstick comedy inspired by the 1930's. Obviously Star Wars derailed it, but i believe that film turned into Radioland Murders.

I heard rumours this film is somehow connected to the American Graffiti films. Can anyone verify this?

    From the IMDb:

George Lucas has stated that the two main characters, Roger and Penny Henderson, are actually the parents of Richard Dreyfuss's character from Lucas' American Graffiti (1973); making Radioland Murders a bit of a semi-prequel.

Kind of related to the DVD issue - but if you're in the UK we'll be getting [link=http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/PROD/3-/904623/Cinema_16_American_Short_Films/Product.html]Freiheit on DVD[/link] soon, with GL commentary. Er, unless we have it already, in which case could I have a link? :D

This one will be in anamorphic widescreen, which the old disc, IIRC, is not.
