    She's more Pellaeon than anyone.

    She's not Daala or Tavira or Isard, the only three female Imperial officers we saw.

    Sloane would be insulted to be compared to Daala, and she's not cruel enough to be compared to Isard.

    Say what you will for Daala - she ended up galactic ruler for nearly three years. By accident of course not that's Daala for you.

    To be fair to Daala, though, she wasn't exactly handled the best in the Jedi Academy Trilogy. She was better in Darksaber, but that's probably because of her character arc, and how she reflected on her mistakes.

    Sloane's arc does have an element of Daala about it - in that she rises to become leader of the Imperial military through the killing off of her rivals.

    The difference is that it's not her doing the killing of Imperials in the Aftermath books - Rax is the one contriving the deaths.
