Raffle Items

I will be editing items in as I can. A lot of things we won't know about or have pictures of until next Wednesday, 8/11. I know I am missing items, so if I didn't add something it's not a slight, I just forgot or haven't gotten there yet. We have a ton of really great stuff so far and it only gets better from here (if that's even possible).

1. Wampa Pillows

2. TaunTaun Pillows

Description: The name says it all. These pillows were created after ThinkGeek's April Fools Day joke of the TaunTaun sleeping bag. They are made of fleece and are hand made with quite a bit of hand stitching. They are the perfect addition to any Hoth-themed collection.

3. X-Wing Chest Box

Also, Steve Sansweet is giving us 5 pairs of "Last Tour to Endor" Disney tickets to give away. We are giving 1 pair to the ForceCast guys to give away at their party for being so gracious with us with all of the planning of this party. So, there will be 4 pairs of Disney tickets given away at the tfn party.

I don't think Dajuan mentioned this, but the way the raffles will work is that you buy any number of $1 raffle tickets, you place them in the bags corresponding to the items that you want to be included in, and tickets will be chosen from the bags at some point during the festivities. For some items, like the paintings, we may do a live auction instead.

Also, some items, like the caricature artist paintings done at the party, will be raffled throughout the night. We understand that people will be standing in lines for 4 days, so we are trying to avoid everyone standing in line for the caricature artist instead of enjoying themselves at the party. So, what we are doing is giving a raffle ticket to anyone who wants a caricature done of them, and they can put it in a bag. Four/five names at a time will be drawn from the bag, and those people will go up to the artist area to have their paintings done. When those are done, 4/5 new names will be drawn, for those people to...be...drawn...

Anyway, I hope that makes sense, and I hope it's okay for me to post this stuff. If not, Dajuan will edit it later I'm sure...

 

Since the first book signing will be on Thursday....I'll be able to bring an autographed book...sorry it will take so long and be at the door, but it will be a hardcover from the new Fate of the Jedi series.

 

Very nice items! I'll def make sure I bring plenty of coinage to enter. I want it all!

Hothie is pretty much correct on what he's saying above. We may tweek the raffle process bit, but it will essentially run like that. A portion of the proceeds will go to several charities, we're in the process of picking them now.

If you have questions about items please feel free to ask. If you want to donate something let me know. If you want to buy some raffle tickets and "play from home" let me know that too. If we do any live auctions people from home probably won't be able to bid unless they can talk a friend into bidding and fronting them the money. Sorry, but that's the easiest way to deal with it. If people win items who aren't there I will take them home with me and ship them after the con.

 

The T-Shirts are donated by the RMFF if you want to update that. I will try super hard to get a complete list of our stuff as soon as I can, but that is pretty much what we are donating.

 

Very nice stuff! I do have a question, do you have to be present to win? I was going to be headed off to the ForceCast party early, and there was something that I wanted to enter to win. I don't know what time you were going to draw the names. Thanks!

 

That's a question we haven't discussed yet. For some drawings you won't need to be present because people can play from home. Some will be things done at the party itself (face painting, caricature artist, etc) so those you would need to be present to win. Let me get back to you on that please?

I did this of a friend's son, and the print is already in a tube in my case.

 

No problem. I just wanted to know because I wanted to try to win that X-Wing chest box. Been wanting to do one for years, never had the money to.

 

I hope the raffle items you have be there to win.To reward people stay all night long.

 

Many of them will be, yes. However, we won't wait until the very end of the party to do the raffles. The Forcecast party is happening concurrently with ours, and there are many people who have bought tickets to both. So to be fair to them, we will be doing raffles throughout the night.

 

If you guys haven't figured it out, hothie is my husband. He knows a lot of what's been going on with party and other CV stuff. So generally what he says will be accurate.

I'm in the process of updating the raffle list.

 

I won't be at the party until around 8pm or so. The first booksiging is 6 to 7pm and I'm scheduled to work it. I'll be over right after that with a book.
