Can anyone tell me why prednisone, a drug that is supposed to decrease swelling, causes one to bloat up????

 

OK, why is the prednisone only working at higher doses and not lower doses??? Tell me! Please!

 

for a drug to be effective it has to be a theraputic level.Some people have to have a higher level of drugs to reach theraputic level, it all depend on the drug,route, metabolism, body make up and drug tolerance. but since its prednisone ( a steroid) it takes a whopping dose for it to be effective. steroid are nasty like that.
