While Googling photos of previous Star Wars Nights for an upcoming video, I came across this really cool image of Lisa and Michelle's sparring duel: [image=http://baldyblogger.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/star-wars1.jpg] Courtesy of BaldyBlogger
Finally! I found the Droids I was looking for! [image=http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb94/JediXXL/Office/G8-R3.jpg] [image=http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb94/JediXXL/Office/RoyalStarshipDroids.jpg] [image=http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i295/coz2112/104.jpg]
Ultrasabers. I've been using one from Steve Lukasik and I was happy with its dueling characteristics. For costuming, where ppl can see my saber close up as QV, I'm considering one from Parks Sabers or JQ Sabers.
Still hard to believe so few people could cause so much destruction and affect our lives so profoundly. A day to sit back and appreciate our country and to recognize how fortunate we really all are.
Does anyone know where we can purchase old/used switches, knobs, small light bulbs (steam punk style comes to mind) - and cheap? We want to make some control panels for the kids new toy room.- Looking for cheap... we scoured the flea market a few weekends ago and did not find anything. It was later in the day though.... perhaps an early morning walk through is in order....
McCarthyism is the practice of making accusations of disloyalty, subversion, or treason without proper regard for evidence. The term has its origins in the period in the United States known as the Second Red Scare, lasting roughly from 1950 to 1954 and characterized by heightened fears of communist influence on American institutions and espionage by Soviet agents. Originally coined to criticize the anti-communist pursuits of Republican U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin, "McCarthyism" soon took on a broader meaning, describing the excesses of similar efforts. The term is also now used more generally to describe reckless, unsubstantiated accusations, as well as demagogic attacks on the character or patriotism of political adversaries.
I'd recommend Buffalo Reuse on Ferry St. It has an amazing collection of cool old building materials. When I was there 2 years ago there were also tons of small bins of the type of thing you are looking for.
