    Raiders
    Temple
    Crusase
    Skull

I like all of them, just to be clear. Even Crystal Skull has it's value.

Shia was good but Lucas made a fantastic point in having a Daughter instead of a son. I feel the dynamic of the two would have had a better benefit of the story. Shame that didn't happen..Really wanted Marion and her daughter to have a scene where they save Indy from snakes..

I would've liked to have his daughter Daphne from the TV show incorporated into the fourth, somehow. Kind of a letdown she wasn't.

Also after seeing Blade Runner 2049 last month, no doubt Harrison can still do Indy a final time. He's aged so amazingly well. Still, he'll be nearly 80 by the time 5 is out, so the time to get on it is definitely now.

    Raiders
    Temple of Doom

    Last Crusade

    Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I could write all day about why Raiders of the Lost Ark is probably the best, most complete and most satisfying adventure movie ever made, with Temple of Doom a close second.

I wonder if after Ready Player One we'll finally get some Indy 5 news? I'd imagine Indy 5 has to be next for Spielberg after RPO (which looks amazing, so excited for it).

Why does not Disney do an animated series about Indiana Jones? Would work

I'm honestly shocked we haven't gotten that, it seems like a given to me.

Going by Disney's three current SW films (TFA, Rogue One and TLJ), I wonder if we've gotten a taste of how they'll handle Indy when they get around to 5? I enjoyed TFA well enough but it's constant homaging of ANH is blatant, and I would hope Indy 5 won't be full of forced nostalgia. It has to be evoked naturally within familiar iconography with a new storyline and adventure, something I think Rogue One did very well.

Definitely can't argue with the first two ranked the highest :) I often feel alone in thinking the first two are the best.

Also just realized and remembered that KOTCS will be turning 10 in 2018. Hard to believe that much time has already passed. Sure doesn't feel like it was a decade ago.

I don't see any reasons to assume that.

For one, being owned by Disney doesn't mean that Disney is calling all the shots. Disney didn't call the shots on Marvel movies, they aren't calling the shots on Pixar movies, so there is no reason to assume that they are doing it on Lucasfilm movies either. Lucasfilm hired specific people to do the new Star Wars movies, none of these are in any way involved with Indiana Jones. When it comes to Indy, it's still Spielberg in control, with Harrison Ford only doing what would be acceptable to him. If there is a ton of nostalgia, it's because there would always have been a ton of nostalgia.

I'm just saying because some fans are very displeased with how Disney has handled SW and with them also owning Indy, one has to wonder if their handling of SW is an indicator of how Indy 5 might turn out.

What he's saying is that Disney isn't handling Star Wars. They own Lucasfilm, and they foot the bill, but Lucasfilm as its own unit is making the films with relative autonomy. The person who has oversight on these projects is Kathleen Kennedy, and she was Lucas' hand-chosen successor. So the only people who are really going to be making the major creative decisions for Indy 5 are Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy, who's his long-time producing partner ever since Raiders of the Lost Ark. The only difference in how this film is being made relative to the previous four is Lucas himself is likely going to be less involved since he's semi-retired.

I wonder how much of a hand Lucas will have in Indy 5. He's always been a major force of the series and I wouldn't expect Indy 5 to be any different.
