Barring one of the new triolgy or one of the two stand alones knocking my socks off, Empire will always reign supreme as mot only the best, but the most powerful movie of the entire saga.

 

ANH (mostly because , if for some reason I could only watch one, it would be this one because it felt more like a self-contained story to me)

Having looked through these pages I have noticed the listings are generally falling into three major groups.
The Original Trilogy group, where the OT films are in the top three in one order or another
A "3-4-5" trilogy group, where an arrangement of those episodes is the top three
The 'Eclectic' group, where the top 3 are not what you would normally expect

Anybody else seeing this?

Yes, I refer to these three groups as the
1.) Group that parrots pop culture's demands.
2.) Group that actually likes the PT but are still afraid they'll be mocked.
3.) Group that is not ashamed of their real preferences.

I spent years in group #2 before I finally realized that anyone judging me didn't really matter so I joined group 3.

 

So if two or more of a fan's favourite SW films are OT films, and the other is ROTS, then they are driven by either 'pop culture demands' or fear of mockery? And in order to not be ashamed of your opinion you need to have either of TPM or AOTC in your top three? I hope I've misinterpreted you and you're actually saying something less absurd.

 

Jarren_Lee-Saber - this is a thread where users can state their preferred SW films. There's absolutely no call for insulting those opinions or branding users in such a fashion.

1. Empire Strikes Back- I love everything about this movie. 2. Revenge Of The Sith- The action in this movie is no stop. Great tie in to the OT. 3. Return Of The Jedi- The Throne Room scenes alone make this classic. 4. A New Hope- Obi Wan Kenobi's intro to Luke feels even more special after the prequels. Love the tone of this movie, pure fun. 5. The Phantom Menace- Loved Qui Gon Jin he was my favorite character in this chapter. There was a lot of fun action scenes and I like that it was not a remake of the OT. 6. Attack Of The Clones- Even though it's last its far from least. AOTC is still better than 90% of the summer blockbuster movies that came out since its release. I loved the Kamino scenes, and The Geonosis battle was amazing. ​
