Saga Rate The Six George Lucas Films, Favorite to Least Favorite (poll added)

This is probably the 10th time I've ranked these, but my rankings have changed again...

1.) The Empire Strikes Back
2.) A New Hope
3.) Revenge of the Sith
4.) Return of the Jedi
5.) The Phantom Menace
6.) Attack of the Clones.

I just watched them all again, and I feel that this ranking captures the way I felt about them this time.

(fun fact: the first time I did this, I ranked Return of the Jedi first)

The Star Wars Holiday Special.

When it comes to the Star Wars Holiday Special, I think George Lucas put it best: "That's one of those things that happened, and I just have to live with it." If others like it/are proud of it, that's fine, but I watched the first 5 minutes and don't want to watch any more of it lol

 

My rankings keep changing as I get older:

3. ANH
4. RoTJ
5. TPM
6. AotC

 

Some of it changes. I just rewatched the whole saga this week and while the OT still remains in the same rank, the PT has changed a bit.

4. ROTS (can I tie that with TCW? It's such a good show! I know we're only doing episodes, but still.)
5. TPM
6. AOTC

In terms of which is best, I think Empire wins, but ROTJ is my favourite because as a kid I loved watching that one most of all.

 

My rankings have changed yet again after just rewatching the prequels.

4. AOTC, ANH

I assume they'll change to a "less-tied" version once I watch them right before TFA.

This is my current list, but the future is always in motion.

1. The Empire Strikes Back =>> This movie always feels solid. Very strong.

2. A New Hope=>> The first one. Always magical.

3. Attack of The Clones =>> Surprising perhapse, but I like the story and the beginning of the Clone Wars.

4. Return of The Jedi =>> Has some of the best scenes in the saga, but the first act is too long. Not too happy about the Ewoks.

5. The Phantom Menace =>> The beginning of the saga. Fine movie, but not impactful enough.

6. Revenge of The Sith =>> Expectations were too high. So much potential. Kind of a let down for me, but it's still a good movie.

 

I tried not to be too cynical/negative when reading through people's lists of rankings, but I can't lie. Some people's answers hurt my very soul. Anyway, I'll probably end up moderated if I elaborate, So I'll just post my list.

After re-watching all 6 over the past 3 days or so in preparation for the new movie, I kind of noticed my own nostalgia goggles for once. ROTJ was actually pretty bad....It's just hard to rank it lower than the prequels. All 3 prequel movies were slightly worse than I remembered them being. TPM and ROTS hold interchangeable spots in my list. They are basically equal, but I almost literally could not stop cringing through the vast majority of AOTC yesterday. So much worse than I remember it, and it has always been at the bottom of my list.

They're just opinions.

But just to be clear, I was kinda sorta half joking when I said that. Everyone's entitled to their opinions. Mine are certainly unpopular with people on this site, so I can't judge.

My rankings change over time. I recently watched all of the prequels again. Ranking them right now, I'd flip TPM and AOTC:

The top two are pretty untouchable.
