Saga Rate the Star Wars films, TPM to TFA

1. Revenge of the Sith - Beautifully made. This is the strongest entry.
2. The Empire Strikes Back - No other sticks in my memory like this one does. Master craftsmanship, and lasting images.
3. Attack of the Clones - This movie brought Anakin Skwalker to life in a way we'd all been waiting to see. This is what Star Wars is supposed to look like.
4. A New Hope - This entrance to the series explodes into your mind. A simple story that is the center of the large web of Star Wars.
5. The Force Awakens - Star Wars strikes again in a wildly wonderful way. This movie is a springboard for some astounding characters.
6. The Phantom Menace - The galaxy is rocked by the events of this story. Anakin's path begins at the crux of galactic turning points.
7. Return of the Jedi - A near perfect ending. Luke confronts the greatest villain of all time in a way no other story would, and the result echoes with truth.

Honestly, my list changes frequently. Each of these movies were constructed by masters of cinema and storytelling.

ESB has always reigned as my favorite Star Wars film due to the great acting, iconic scenes, amazing characters, complexity and overarching themes. I really enjoy them all though.

 

My newly revised list goes like this

When it comes to rating sw films, will u guyz put r1 in ur lists or keep Anthology's separate?

 

I'll probably keep them separate, for the same reason I don't include TCW film. I just perfer to keep the rankings free of spin offs and such, so I can focus on the main films. That's nothing against the spin offs, TCW was a decent opening to an excellent TV series, and I have pretty high hopes for R1 based on what we've heard about it.

The Phantom Menace is criminally underrated.

 

I'd say more criminally over hated..

 

It's a phenomenal film. It looks unbelievable. The lighting is spot on, with the exception of a few Jar Jar shots.

People need to look at it with no understanding of star wars. The way Lucas introduces the Lightsabre?!

While the Anthology movies are set within the timeline of the PT, OT, and ST movies, they are a different storyline altogether... Which is why I'll prefer to separate Rogue One from the list I gave earlier!

I love all 6 Saga films though. Its hard to actually put them in any kind of order…lol. I do like the PT better than the OT except Revenge of the Sith. ROTS is well made movie but its just too damn dark for me to enjoy it or be entertained by it. I don't care for TFA at all.

 

You should rather post your rankings here then. In this thread I only count the rankings that include all 7 episodes.

7.Attack of the Clones- only thing good is Jango Fett. The big Jedi battle in the arena is cool. but the rest of the movie is boring.
