    Han Solo did not want to bring The Millennium Falcon to the resistance base as the First Order could track it.

    What does Ray do she brings it straight to Luke Skywalker.

    Is this a mistake in the movie or a mistake by Ray and the First Order will be right behind her in Episode 8?

    I don't think so as it did not have a tracking device on it, and Han handpicked her to be his new crewmate, so it is only fitting she inherit it as something to remember him by. Chewie is also fond of her, so I think he is taking care of her to honor his life debt to Han.
