Hey I am getting a Park while i am their
The mural is a no-go. Couldn't get it done in time. So we're going with the standard vinyl banner. I have some people working on the adobe illustrator files that we can give to the print shop folks.
Could anyone give me a hand with some of the lst minute things? I'm getting a little bit behind, and could use some assistance. PM me if you can help.
So, I've decided I want to come too. Can I?
I can't leave at noon, because I have to work until 1 . Anyone leaving a little later that I can hitch a ride with? OR, does anyone want to leave a little later (we can take my car)? Jupitertronic, did you find a ride yet? Anyone else?
Also, where is everyone staying? Anyone with extra hotel room space? I checked, and every place close to the convention center is either full or way outside of my price range. So, anyone have a room they want me to help make cheaper? Otherwise, it's the Motel 6 in El Cajon for me.
I can't wait. I really need a couple of really fun days in geek heaven.
If you check with Mara_Jade_Fan in San Diego, she might be able to hook you up with a place to stay.
I'm not sure about the travel arrangements.

We have room in our hotel room If you don't mind sharing space. The more the better and the cheaper for the rest of us! Jupetertronic, you're welcome to share the hotel too.
The hotel is only about 10 minutes from the convention center.

BTW, OW, what sort of help do you need? I am rushing to finish my costume, but I'm sure I can fit in one more thing.

ObeyWann I think it would be a good idea if we did do a coordinating/organization meeting for those going to CC. We can hand out maps, coordinate itineraries...etc.
Obey Wann asked me to help out with things for the planning. I'll be out this weekend so I'll post a thread on it.
Thanks! Void and MJAZ are taking up the lead in organizing and coordinating this for me, as my "generals". Beyond that, I'm still looking for designs for the flyers. I also think that the final meeting will help iron out any final bug in the plans.
Hopefully tonight I'll get the acrobat files for the banner design, so I can run it down to the print shop. I'd like to check off at least one thing on my "to-do" list.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the Rebel Legion/501st dinner is at full capacity. Unless you registered and received confirmation there are no spaces left for the dinner. Sorry

I've got the banner design! I will take it to a print shop tomorrow and get it done.
As far as the free exhibitor passes go, please remember that since we have more people in need of them than we have passes, it is possible to volunteer for 3 hours at the con in order to get free access.
That's how several of us are getting in.
In case you don't want to pay the extra money for either Sat/Sun access.
PVC Mannequins?? Yes or no?? If yes, we need to buy PVC. If no, I won't worry. Answer???
I thought you already had the mannequins done. I can't help you, as the banner might be costing slightly more than we thought. Unfortunately, I probably won't have it to SDCC in time for Thurs opening. We might not have it until Weds night at best.
problems with your printing, obey?
No, just problems with format. I got it in EPS late last night and had to burn it to a CD. Now my my wife is running it to the shop. Good news is that we are getting it at $100 for an 8x3, so we're good there.
The main thing that slowed us down was getting the design in the proper format. Originally I thought it was suppposed to be AI, so that's what Rox gave me. Then the shop said EPS, so Rox had to reformat and resend it. All 15 megs of it. Thank God for Cox cable modems.
Now it's just a matter of getting it done. //crosses fingers//
I'll know in about an hour or so when it will be completed (once the wife delivers the CD Rom to the shop.)
I was originally going to fly to SD this weekend but now I might drive. Does anybody still need a ride?
I think we're covered on people, but thanks. You're welcome to come to the meeting thursday and join the convoy on friday.
