    Hello Olympimaniacs,

Can I ask, are you satisfied with another gold being awarded? Should the Russians have retained theirs or should they have been 'demoted'? ?[face_plain]

(This sort of Gold Haggling rarely affects us Brits ;) )

After hearing some of the Russian comments towards Canada and our skaters, I would like their GOLDS removed.

Comments that are nothing short of:
"Canada is just a bunch of swore losers"
"Canada can't accept that the Russians skated better."
    "Canada didn't deserve the GOLD."

    Please insert retaliator "Rant" here:

It was going to be a no-win situation no matter what. :(

Whoever would say those type of things is wrong. The deciding vote that awarded the Russians with the gold had NOTHING to do with how they skated and instead it was in exchange for a Russian vote for France in ice dancing. And even if it hadn't been prearranged, anybody who watches the programs and is honest, knows that Sale and Pelletier skated flawlessy and the Russian pair did not.

Well, tommorow is the finals for 'acrobatic ski'(?) for the women and there are 3 canadians in the 12 finalists. There might be some chances for a medal or two (three would be great of course 8-} ).
It should be interesting to watch!

I watched a little bit of the men's curling yesterday. I think I finally understood how it works! [face_laugh] (There was one cute guy in the canadian team! I guess that's the reason I didn't change the channel! ;) )

Whatever..... They won against Norway and they are in first position and the women's team too. Go Canada!

Let's sum up... we're now close to chosing curling as our "national" sport instead of hockey... right?!?! I know I am...

3-2 win against Germany.. woohoo.. and they don't have a player in the NHL.. or just 1 or 2....

And to comment on Marianne's comment, there's also a cute woman in the curling team :)

But I said "national" because as unbelievable as it seems, La Crosse is Canada's national sport.... oh well, I can't wait to see the result of tonight's game vs Czech Republic!

    From http://www.citzine.ca/steng.e/facts.lacrosse.html:

In 1994, Bill C-212 was introduced to officially declare hockey as Canada's national sport. Opposition came from supporters of Lacrosse who wanted to recognize the traditional and cultural significance of this sport. Consequently, Bill C-212 was amended to recognize both sports. Thus, on May 12, 1994, Canada's National Sport Act (Bill C-212) became law, reading: "To recognize Hockey as Canada's National Winter Sport and Lacrosse as Canada's National Summer Sport".

5-2 loss against Sweden, then 3-2 win against Germany, now losing 2-1 against the Czech Republic.

    C'mon, guys! This is pathetic.

Tied at 2-2, after the Czech goaltender moves his glove over the line, with the puck in it.

    Let's go Canada!

EDIT: Final score is 3-3. We play Finland on Wednesday in the quarter finals. We played our best game yet.

Now that's what I call a good hockey game! Did you see how Fleury played and passed that puck to Nieuwendyk? One heck of a play!!
