Real Droid Built - R2-D2's inspiration from movie Silent Running with Bruce Dern

Hi,

I'm not sure I'm in the right forum...

So I apologize... I wish I got more involved with "discussion forums" or bulletin boards years ago...
and made some good friends with common interests

I am 51 and first saw Star Wars in drive-in 1977 and have been a big fan for decades...

I do "believe" in The Force... a "string theory" liek "energy force" that exists in all living things... as well...

but I'm really a scientist...computer and robotics...

I have a built a real droid.. like R2-D2

But R2-D2 and the droids were inspired by the "worker drones (droids) of the movie Silent Running by Douglas Trumball and John Dykstra..

I have built a "working prototype" and is now on display on Instagram and Twitter..


FUN FACT:

George Lucas credited the movie Silent Running for being the inspiration for R2-D2 in interviews years ago...
