Eeexcellent. *rubs hands*
Provisionally, would weekends or weekdays work better for you guys?
Weekends, to be honest.
Ack- double checked my dates and it looks like I'm leaving in the morning on the 11th so I have one less day to play with than I thought.
Perhaps sometime on Saturday the 10th, though?
Yeah weekends suit me better. I could probably do the 10th.
Though, er, it's a worrying time to be planning a visit to London...
Yes... Xan, London might be shut by the then. Or aflame...
I noticed. My ticket's been booked for a few months already, though, so we'll see what happens...
[Palpatine]We will make it work![/Palpatine]
I suppose I can do the 10th, but I'll need a reminder. Getting old and forgetful, I guess.
Let's tentatively make it Saturday 10th, then - say lunch?
Assuming, yes, London isn't all in flames by then.
Anyone still in for the 10th?
Due to RL committments, I am usually no good before 2pm on a Saturday, so if you were thinking noon, that is too early for me.
We can do afternoon on Saturday. Coffee or something.
The 10th after 2pm sounds alright to me!
So how about we meet at 2ish at that sci-fi-y store we met at last time?
Forbidden Planet. There's two in London, I think. Which one did you all meet at last time?
The one at leicester square - in fact it seems we met at the l.s. tube station last time. Shall we do that again? Might be easier for everyone?
I understand that when you come out of Leicester Square station now, the route south towards Forbidden Planet, has been boarded off, because of the Crossrail transport development (for the Olympics), so I recommend meeting at Leicester Square rather than FP.
On the other hand, since I'm not the most punctual person this side of the galactic centre, maybe Forbidden Planet would be better, so you can occupy yourselves while waiting for RPFers to turn up.
Livi', will you be okay in the shop?
I'll be fine... I'm not sure my finances will be though!
I bought so much last time, including that copy of The Essential Atlas that Sithy was a gentleman and let me have.
Anyway, cool. Why don't we meet at 2ish at Forbidden Planet, then? I shall be ultra geeky and wear my N7 hoodie so I'll be easy to spot.
So we had a very entertaining meetup at Forbidden Planet. There was much geekery involved, some confusion over pronunciations of screen names, and general awesomeness.
Unfortunately we forgot to take pictures. But it was great to meet Livi, Wing and Sithy! Next time I'm in London we should do this again.
Yep, great seeing Xan again, and Winged Jedi and Livi-Wan for the first time. Thank you for hanging around long enough for me to get there.
What did everyone get? I am belatedly interested in your Forbidden Planet purchases. I got about six items, and am already reading former Doctor Who supremo' Russell T Davies' The Writers Tale: Final Chapter.
It was really really good to meet you all! (once we had sorted out who was who, ahem ) Apologies once again for leaving early, although it just means we'll have to meet up again next time Xany's in town
I got FOTJ: Ascension and am about two chapters in. It's ... okay. I mostly bought it because I have the rest of the series in hardback and I'm a completionist when it comes to collecting books (also the covers are pretty).
Was quite tempted by the Thane figurine, and the Harry Potter wands, but in the end - nah. If they had more Mass Effect stuff, like a replica gun or something, that would have been awesome ...
Yeah it was great meeting you all. Lovely way to pass a couple hours. I didn't get anything, much to my surprise, and as tempting as it was to buy one of the ridiculously obscure Potter wands (Madam Pomfrey, seriously?).
To be fair, we could have corrected you quicker. I did think the "the Thane love must run in the family" line was a bit odd.
Nice to hear you all had such a good time at the meet up
Just curious if any UK based Role playing forumers will be attending London MCM Expo at the end of October?
