well, cut me some slack, jack... that was the short list at 0430 on no sleep...

and to be truthful, i had to think for a bit. my original list constisted of rain, the moon, rain, petrichor, and rain. oh, and being soggy from standing in the rain.

but not wet glasses...

the rest are things that make me happy, not a complete list, but i sensed some redundancy so i fleshed it out a bit.

and then i went outside and stood in the rain some more. under the moon.

and was extremely happy.

to add a few things:

YES to cats, toys, movies, comics, and to hitting people with sticks. to dandelions, dragonflies and hummingbirds. to staying up all night talking, watching the sun rise, and to sleeping in. YES to a new (or ANY) gaiman book or pratchett book. to magic hour, cameras, and most of the art that i can't do. to italy, most especially firenze, and sunsets over the arno, and guys who play albinoni's adagio on an electric violin. YES to beauty, to looking for good things in other people and seeing them. to weirdness, and to laughter, without the ability for which i wouldn't even begin to pass for sane. to absent friends, and to the guy who inexplicably puts up with me. and YES to love and to friendship, sometimes. to forgiveness, to hope and to JOY.

and probably some other stuff, as it occurs to me.

the vision of Himself in the gold knickers, though, i can do without.

*snickers*.....you took a photo of him flashing in his kilt(and sent it to me...scarred for life i am since it ended up on my screensaver somehow....i don't think you realize just how scary it is to wake in the middle of the night to the picture of one's brother's naked butt flashing on the conputer screen...)....and you/ve seen (and likewise recorded for posterity) him dressed as Frankie.........and gold knickers you're having a problem with???.....

you know, that picture was BLURRY, you big fink. and not EVERYONE in the known universe knew about it... until now. i actually tend to forget about that picture, until somebody tells the story, again.

i don't know, something about tight gold chones. i mean, gold... <shudder>
it's notsomuch on him, it's them. i mean, i'd be thinking rocky. who was my least favourite part of that movie.

of course, with cowboy boots and a coat, guess it could be fetching. <shrug>

Reasons to be happy?

My 96 hour work week ends in another 32 1/2 hours.
Family (of which I only really have my father now.)
Cats, always cats.
One Crazy Old Wizard.
My friends. (Which unlike cats will probably not eat me if I die alone. Okay, an odd thought but a fear I have. Being eaten by my cats after I die, assuming I die at home.)
Books and the ability to read.
My knowledge.
Plotting revenge and galactic domination.
My really long title.

good answer on the personal growth- it seems true that what does not kill you makes you stronger. and i have always said that no experience (good or bad) is wasted, as long as you are smart enough to learn from it. life is process, and all that good stuff. and try not to take it too seriously, you'll never get out of it alive... <darby degenerates into silliness>

had a lovely evening: sat down at starbucks tonight and read my new gaiman book, took four hours and i wish it were longer... actually dogged it a little, to make it last longer. but for four hours, the rest of the world did not exist.

and it was good.

 

Starbucks doesn't strike me as a place to go if you're looking to get away from the rest of the world for a while. I visited your website last night. You're an amazing photographer. As I am a wanabe amature photographer, I wouldn't mind being in your shadow a time or two and picking your photographer's brain.

Well you may all now shutter as i tell you that i have almost everything i need to compleet ZAPHOD. all that is left is pants and the wonderful gold shorts. just wanted to prepare you for the sight.

 

A quick update as I saw hisself only a while ago. Shorts are covered,...or well not, as the case may be.
