Full Series Rebels 3.01-3.02 - Steps Into Shadow - Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

Late September, early October was the time frame I believe.

 

It's just been confirmed today that these episodes will premiere Saturday September 24 at 8:30pm ET/PT.

 

Now to make the next month and a half disappear like pools of water in the Tatooine sun.

 

Does anyone know who wrote this episode and is writing for Sesaon 3?????

That i remember

Well he did write a few Season 4 episodes that were the jail break episodes so those are the good episodes.

Any other season 3 writers would be good. Knowing who the writers are will be key to me about the quality of the episodes.

 

Good writers can write bad episodes and bad writers can write good episodes you know. For all we know Brent Friedman could write all garbage episodes.

 

Fair point i've actually looked over some of these writers and they've written some of my favorite and least favorite episodes of Clone Wars. I really want Season 3 to best season we've had yet.

 

Matt Michnovetz also wrote at least one episode. Seeing Brent Friedman and Matt Michnovetz writing episodes makes me excited, they wrote some really great arcs of TCW.

 

My thing with this season especially by the trailer and clips we got is how dark this season is going to get. I remember season three of TCW (Just to compare and contrast a little bit) was when the show started to move away from a more kiddy angle and finally get darker in tone, and then by season 4 we got super dark.

Ezra mind tricks a storm trooper chicken walker pilot into killing his fellow soldiers and walking off a cliff.

 

Well lets hope that tone sticks with the rest of the series.

So long as Christian Taylor hasn't come back to write some episodes I'm happy. I still haven't forgiven him for Mortis.

It's literally dark. That form of Mind trick is usually only used by sith and dark side users. I mean it's not even a mind trick, it's mind control.

But seriously it's probobly one of the darkest things to happen in the show even more so then the death of Aresko and Grint.

Forcing someone to kill his comrades before ending their own life is just ****** up.

Okay but, is it kinda sad to anyone else that we're getting a better fall to the dark side story with Ezra then we got with freaking Darth Vader?

 

one of the benefits of a weekly show over a collection of 2 hour movies - one of which doesn't even have anything to do with Anakin's jedi training.

 

Watching that clip reminded me to ask, how was the music in the episode?

 

^^ darkly toned, if that clip is representative. It started with the iconic light side force theme but it quickly shifted lower... like "oh you thought it was going to be a mind trick didn't you? nope this is mind control"
