the other part of the trailer has an imperial getting out of a crashed t.i.e. and the kid ezra shoots his slingshot into it. that seems pretty dark. of course something else could happen at that point.

We are just going to have to keep track of how many things these characters have in order to blow stuff up in this show that is supposedly made for 5 year olds.

 

Maybe when we got closer to the pilot, we should start an "Official Rebels Terrorist Act Count" thread for constant measurement of what bad role models the Ghost crew are.

yeah these designs are supposed to be pre-ot. mcquarrie's first versions that evolved during pre-production of the films.

this design isn't "film correct" because the shapes evolved.




that is the look they're going for and i love it. as far as the star destoyer looking different, filoni said in a vid that it's based solely on ralph's work and when an artist asks him "is this good?" he says "does it match the painting?"

I honestly have no issue with that SD. Aside from the Stormy armor looking a little too shiny, everything looked really good in my opinion. As much as I love the Clone Wars (and the PT) this is SW, and it's been a long time since I felt that particular 'Star Wars' atmosphere mentioned further back.

 

Only if Kanan gets to be Flynn Rider.

 

I wouldn't argue. The fact making the joke drove to to watching Aladdin shows that as a typical ex-tyke I can enjoy me some Disney. But I am hoping for some originality amongst the cast. Having a Twilek and Mando as main cast members show they are on the right track.

 

If Ezra's Aladdin . . . Would that make Kanan the Genie?

In a all seriousness, I'd love a scene where Hera slaps Ezra. Bright Noa style!

 

^ That reminds me of how Robin Williams is a big fan of the anime Evangelion and how he actually wanted to voice Gendo in one of the movies. I replied that I'm all for it provided that Williams doesn't play the role seriously at all, instead playing it in the improvisational way he played the Genie in Aladdin.

 

@ Alixen: Does it? I don't think it does at all certainly not by virtue of simply being present. I'll judge on personality and manner which we won't really see till it starts airing.

 

I wish I could say more about the trailers, but I still feel there's too little material in them to really talk about; when do you guys think we can expect a more substantial trailer?

 

Just got around to watching the new Rebels trailers. I don't know what to really think about this show yet, but I've got to say that I'm less enthusiastic about it now than I was when we first heard about it (as we've since seen the new character introductions, seen trailers, etc.).

I recall an interview suggesting by the fourth episode we will quickly see that, yes, this is Disney but bad things do happen...

It might not be as dark as TCW at times, but I think it will be more emotional.
