Awesome! Looks like Disney finally has some sense.

 

Finally that took forever.

 

It's actually a great model, in tiers. Give paying customers a premium viewing slot and options, while eventually making it available for everyone.

• XD Subscribers (Premium Cable) get on broadcast day and, as a Premium Bonus, a new one a week ahead
• from Amazon + iTunes + Google (Online purchasers) get day-after-broadcast viewing
• Disney Channel subscribers (Basic Cable) get episodes airing a few weeks later
• Non-paying viewers get to see the whole series after everyone who is actually paying for it gets to watch it.

This way paying customers don't feel ripped off, they got added time and value for their money, and still, everyone eventually gets to watch it. Only whiners should be those who feel entitled to free entertainment without having to pay for it. Now that we've seen the whole plan, it's great, and caters to everyone. Pay, you get privileges. Can't pay, just be patient, and you'll still get it.

I don't want to upgrade my cable to carry an XD package. So I don't get episode day-and-date, and a week ahead online. But I am willing to pay the amount charged by amazon.com, so I get it Tuesday morning following broadcast. That works for me.

 

I agree I was just tired of logging in my stuff to watch so now I can rewatch.

It was always possible to watch them, even if you didn't have Disney XD. The same holds true for any given show on any given network. In the words of the Imperial Inquisitor: "there is another path".

But I'll not discuss that here, of course.

I prefer watching them on YouTube. They come in HD and I don't have to have lag spikes every 20 seconds.

Not if you purchase it through Google. There is an authorized YouTube version to purchase.

 

Good play from Disney, good to thd show in HD now. Didnt thet do this with Clone Wars too?

He probably is talking about the legal version. YouTube bootlegs are rarely HD quality.

Anyway, if I ever purchase the episodes online I'll probably go with iTunes since that seems to be the only option that will allow me to actually download the episode to my computer instead of streaming it. That way I can watch without needing an Internet connection, and can watch in 1080p even though my download speed isn't fast enough to stream in that resolution without serious buffering issues.

 

Are the episodes still there? It's not letting me watch them anymore on the Star Wars.com website.

 

They are for me it might not let you watch it because your not in the us.

If they really want to combat illegal streaming they should make the episodes available internationally, even if it meant creating separate official streaming sites.

 

AFAIK it's not illegal for me to watch anything on YouTube. It may be illegal for yotube to have it, but that's their deal.

Anyway I don't think I will be arrested.
