    IC: Mace Windu
    Jedi Temple hallways, Coruscant

Master Windu walks in front of the young Padawan, in a confident yet cautious manner. As they walked inside the Room of a Thousand Fountains, they saw four younglings at the deep right corner of the room, clearly attempting to hide. One of them looked injured, as he was grabbing his leg with one hand, and there was a visible dark-red stain on his robes. They were clearly terrified, but one of them turned around to see the Master and the Padawan approaching. He smiled brightly, a sign of hope in his eyes. It was obvious that they thought they wouldn't survive this day until they saw the pair of Jedi approaching.

Just as they closed in on the younglings, three troopers appeared at the other side. They didn't see Windu and Timhos, but they spotted the younglings and immediately raised their blasters, aiming at them.

As they did so, Master Windu Force-pushed the three of them against the wall, igniting his lightsaber as he started running towards the younglings.

    IC: Onyx Black - Toola

Onyx saw her fellow Jedi's eyes fall on her form, and she smiled. The rule she knew he was contemplating as he gazed at her was one she had struggled many times not to break. Thankfully, opportunities did not readily present themselves, and she was much too reserved to make the first move. Beyond temptation, that was. When his eyes finally left her to continue eating, she slowly zipped her catsuit up again, lost in contemplation. She was not currently hungry, so she had nothing better to do.

“You can go get some rest if you want, you’ll need for tomorrow." Onyx looked up again. "I will stand watch; I’m not very tired.” She just nodded. Neither was she, but she might as well get what sleep she could. For now, though, she remained where she was, if only because he did likewise.

After a few long minutes, he looked up at her again. “You better get some rest Onyx, we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow, in the morning we will try to contact someone and see where we stand.” She returned his smile, but shook her head after he turned around. Did he think she needed comfort? Or was he simply reassuring himself again? Either way, it hardly mattered. As he said, they would get in touch with someone tomorrow.

Shaking her head again, Onyx rose from her place by the fire, and picked up the various parts of her most powerful communication device. The farther the signal could get on its own, the better their chance of remaining undetected. With that in mind, she started assembling it. She would sleep later.

OOC: Sorry Zeltron for such a late reply, I was just so busy this week

    IC: Barric Bryce
    Toola / Cave Interior

The morning came faster than Barric had expected. The snow storm had ended some time during the night, leaving the landscape with yet another fresh layer of powder snow. The sun was just breaking over the tops of the mountains in the distance throwing orange and yellow rays of light over the peaks and turned the world outside the cave into a bright and snowy landscape that was hard to look upon without being blinded. It had a beauty about it though there was no denying that.

Barric walked away from the mouth of the cave back to the fire where he had sat at most of the night, tending it to make sure the cave stayed warm and their equipment dried. Onyx was up as well, Barric had guessed that she had not slept much either, after they had eaten dinner around the fire the night before she went right to work putting together the holo communications, he didn’t know when or if she had gone to sleep, he must have been caught up in his own thoughts at the time to take any notice. But Onyx was a woman grown and could make her own decisions and didn’t need anyone to tell her to get some rest. He dug into his pack and ate his meager portion of rations for the morning. As he sat at the fire his felt his chin, where a long and unkempt auburn colored beard was growing in. He had stopped shaving once he landed on Toola, any little bit would help to keep his face warm, he figured he would shave it once he got back to civilization, but in truth he was beginning to like it.

Now it was time to try and get in contact with someone from the Order, or maybe even the Council. Obi Wan, Mace Windu, even Anakin Skywalker, if they could get in touch with any of them it would be a great relief. From there they could find out where they stood on what Jedi were still at large and in hiding, those who had been captured and what worlds were still friendly to the Jedi Order and might lend them aid. Barric finished pack up his ruck sack and looked over to Onyx.

“Well Onyx, should we try out the holo this morning, see if anyone bites?” he said to her as he zipped up his pack. He just hoped they would be able to get reception inside the cave, anything to avoid going out in the bitter cold again.

    IC: Various Reporters

Inside and outside the Senate Hall

The Reporters that had previously covered the speech of Mas Amedda now covered the speech of 'Regent' Isard. The man made good points in their view. The Jedi had no real proof of what had happened, and few outside Historians knew the meaning of 'Sith' these days. But, they couldn't avoid reporting on one thing Isard had left out.

"An excellent speech by Regent Isard, though my sources have shown that the word 'Sith' has been used in relation to this war before," an Alderaan News reporter said to his viewers, "Count Dooku has been referred to by that title, and so have his Force Users, such as the 'Sith Acyolote' Assaj Ventress."

The other reporters in the news room talked about their own views, though the same Galactic News reporter from Amedda's speech moved over to the Alderaanian reporter.

"As Regent Isard said however, we have no proof that the Jedi are telling the truth here," the woman said.

"Indeed we do not," the other reporter nodded.

Moving on to other parts of the speech, the group of reporters started to talk about the absentee senators. The prevailing view was that the Senators should return, though a few dissenters were present. Notably reporters from the Senators homeworlds, who completely understood their fellow's views. Though there would would be questions that needed to be answered as always. The other hot topics got attention too. The Jedi being allowed a neutral world to settle on in particular. Most of the reporters again believed the prevailing view...why should they doubt the governments word?

"As a private citizen, I beg the Jedi to listen to this gracious offer," one of them said, "Please give yourselves in and end this war."

    CIS Council

    Mustafar

After the meeting had ended, several of the Council Members had left to do their own business. A few stayed behind however, saying they had work to finish. In actuality, they were discussing their 'ally' Raptor. After finding out that Sidious had been using them from the start, they had realized that trusting Sith would get them nowhere. And Raptor's obsession with killing Jedi was proof of this...he cared nothing for their goals or their people...just his own goals. While some of the Council (Gunray for instance) were perfectly willing to work with Raptor, either through fear or something else, these members were smarter than that.

"Am I the only one who noticed how Raptor went silent and tensed up when I mentioned Jedi leading our troops?" the one Councilor asked.

"Hardly. I'm no Force User but I could tell he looked gleeful at the idea," another member said with some amount of disgust in her voice, "probably thinking of using the droids to kill the Jedi."

"Wouldn't surprise me," a third Councilor said, "though it doesn't help our cause any."

The man spoke the truth. While the CIS Council didn't particularly like the idea of working with their former enemies, at least this group could see the benefit. Jedi had proven time and again to be the biggest threat, not the Clones. If they could get the Jedi to lead their troops, they could outproduce and outfight the Empire. The same could be true if they got the Exiles to work with them. While it was doubtful to an extreme they would be willing to join the Confederacy, it could only be a good thing to get them on their side.

"No one can know about this meeting," the first Councilor said seriously, "We need to start funneling resources and moving production lines to our own homeworlds...Gunray and the others who support Raptor may decide 'removing' us is safer. We need to be ready. And someone see if Poggle will work with us."

The others nodded and set about organizing the plan. They set the foundations for a split in the CIS leadership...but also a way to continue the government free of Sith influence.

    IC: Dantooine Harbor Control

    Dantooine

The harbor control office on Dantooine was typically quiet. There was very little to do on such an isolated world after all. But as they watched the holonet, the crew started to gossip amongst themselves. Jedi killed the Chancellor? They had to turn themselves in? An Empire? This was highly irregular.

"Man, good thing we don't have any Jedi out here eh?" one of the workers asked.

"Err...I'm not so sure of that," a woman said, listening to the holocams in the hangar.

A hooded figure walked up to the only docked freighter, a ship by the name of Hung Jury. The cloaked figure removed her hood, revealing a young Togruta. But the name she gave was what really drew attention. Ashoka Tano? The former Je...oh kriff...

"Tano?! What are we supposed to do now?" one of the workers panicked, "Jedi are supposed to turn themselves in...we can't just let her go can we?I"

"I don't know...I don't know," the most senior worker muttered, "send security in and contact the Jury. We have to follow the law."

"Freighter Hung Jury please hold your takeoff. We are sending security to collect your passenger."

    IC: CT-8326

    Coruscant, Jedi Temple

"Come on men, reports say some Younglings are hiding in the Room of a Thousand Fountains!" a Clone Trooper yelled, waving his blaster can getting two of his brothers to follow him.

The three clones were on 'clean up' duty, as most of the Temple had already been secured. But scattered groups of Jedi who either missed the evac or were cut-off by the 821st needed to be dealt with. A small group of younglings had apparently taken shelter in the Room of a Thousand Fountains, trying to hide from the clones. CT-8326 and his squad were sent in to root them out. Though their orders were to stun them instead of going for the kill now...an order direct from the new Emperor. So their DC-17's were set to stun, and they moved stealthily through the hallways.

Soon enough, they reached the room they had been looking for, finding a group of younglings huddling in the corner. One looked injured, but it got no sympathy from the Clones. If it weren't for the order to capture, they would be firing at the younglings by now. But since a blaster on stun was shorter-ranged, they had to move in closer to do any real damage.

"Forward men. Don't let them escape, but keep your eyes open for any older Jedi," CT-8326 ordered.

The other clones nodded, raising their blasters fully. What they weren't expecting was to be thrown into a wall. The commander was the first up, and he saw a priority target...Master Mace Windu, purple lightsaber alight as he moved to cover the Younglings. A Padawan was following closely behind him, both of the Jedi obviously here to protect their younger counterparts.

    "Fire!" the Commander shouted.

With that order, blue lighting shot out of each of the clones DC-17's, heading at Master Windu...

    IC: Jasor

    Coruscant, Level 1313

Jasor didn't have to wait long for a reply from Ventress at least. She turned to him and said, "I will take this under advisement, and I will keep be in touch should I acquire any Jedi during my travels..."

Jasor snorted slightly at her vague answer. He had expected it really. He knew her history...what Dooku had her do. So he would have been surprised if Ventress had jumped right on the offer. Then again, it was his job to try after all. As he mulled that over, Whitelight had her own piece to say.

"It seem a bit low to me, with what modification to say, ship, or even equipment, this alive or does it matter."

"We would prefer them alive if at all possible," Jasor replied, "they need to stand trial after all. We're not bloodthirsty murders in the Empire."

After saying that, Jasor felt a beep on his comlink. Raising the device to his ears, he listened in.

"Ventress is now a bounty on par with Windu and Skywalker, capture or kill her at all costs."

Jasor was going to think about that on his own...but he made a rookie mistake. He hadn't turned down the volume on his comlink! And if the tensing of Ventress' muscles were any indication...she had heard every word.

    "Kriff."

    IC: Count Dooku

    Bridge of HIMS 'Sarlacc'

Floating through space in the Deep Core was a monster of a warship. The large dagger-shaped ship was still under-construction, as evidenced by scaffolding surrounding it. Part of the 'Sarlacc Project' to replace the Mandator line of Star Dreadnoughts. Hence the name Sarlacc. Watching the construction through the bridge viewports, was an elderly man in dark robes with a curved lightsaber at his waist. Anyone looking at the man would gasp in shock, as he was thought dead by everyone in the Galaxy outside of a select few in Palpatines most inner circle...even Amedda and Tarkin didn't know. This man was Count Dooku...the former leader of the CIS, now the leader of the forces on Byss.

While Palpatine had been confident that he could turn Anakin, he had noticed worrying trends. Anakin had been going to Obi-Wan for help more than usual, and seemed more grounded in the Light Side than before, for some reason. Because of this, Palpatine had set up a contingency plan. Namely, he had convinced Dooku to clone himself, and have the clone be on the Invisible Hand. The real Count had moved to oversee work at Byss. Thus, he had been perfectly safe as his clone had perished against Skywalker and Kenobi.

Left to his own devices, Dooku had waited for orders. They never came, until the day he had felt a sudden shift in the Force. The day that Palpatine had died. Dooku had felt it, as had every Force Sensitive who had been caring to look. The lifting of the 'Shroud of the Dark Side' was enough evidence. Thus, Dooku had moved the Sarlaac closer to Byss, where he would wait for Palpatine to enter one of his many clone bodies. The Galaxy wouldn't be without its leader for long...and with Skywalker out of the running, Dooku would continue to serve as his apprentice...though he did have his own plans to work on too...

As the lightning approached the Jedi Master, he moved his body to the right side with amazing speed, but only barely dodging the shot. He used his Force-enhanced speed to get in combat range from his attackers, and as the troopers prepared to shoot again, he slashed through the armour of the commander with his lightsaber; from the chest to the waist. The others flinched briefly, and he used this small opportunity to crush the lungs of one of the other troopers using the Force. Only one trooper remained standing, who was already a couple of feet away from Master Windu as he moved away while the Jedi attacked his brothers. The Master raised his blade and jumped towards the lone soldier...

    IC: Armand Isard
    Directorate of Intelligence - Coruscant.

On the whole, Isard was pleased with the Media reaction to his speech, notwithstanding that overly-informed Alderaanian Correspondent's attempt to confuse the issue.

The regular Media-briefers had already been instructed to point out (but only in answer to a direct question) that Dooku was well known to be an ex-Jedi and Ventress was rumoured to be another; while the late Supreme Chancellor Palpatine had never been inducted into the Order, despite the Jedi's penchant for scooping up (with or without their parents' consent) any and all tiny children who were alleged to have even the slightest trace of 'Force-sensitivity'! The plain implication being that Palpatine had not been Force-sensitive!

It would also be pointed out that 'demonising' enemy personnel (particularly enemy commanders) was almost habitual in wartime; that some of those 'demons' revelled in being so singled out (enjoying the fear that their enemy-inflated reputations caused in others); but the survivor of that particular pair of 'demons' was currently known to be looking for Bounty Hunter work somewhere in Coruscant's underbelly. Surely (the Media-briefer would rhetorically ask), would the Jedi have allowed her to run around unsupervised if she was actually that dangerous?

The Media-briefers would round out the explanation by saying that Isard's actual point was that the Jedi were, on the evidence, seemingly fully prepared to act as judge, jury and executioners against anyone they happened to label a 'Sith'; whether or not there was any evidence against that individual. Rhetorical points of "Don't we have Courts to establish guilt or innocence on the evidence for that?" and "How would you feel if the Jedi happened to get it into their heads that you were one of these 'Sith'?" and a strong hint that future Jedi involvement in Government Service would have, by necessity, to be under much greater policy and operational oversight than formerly; would complete the answer.

Isard had ensured that the new instructions concerning Jedi had been sent out to all Imperial Military Services before he left the Senate building en-route to the Intelligence Directorate. Breaking the habit of a lifetime, he had instructed his driver to follow exactly the same route back as he had used on the outward journey, in order to pay a personal visit to Senator Amidala's apartment if there were still signs of continued occupancy. Unfortunately (from his point of view) the apartment now looked completely deserted.

Once back in his official Office (he thought of it as his 'meet and greet' office) he requested updates on the operations that he had set in motion earlier.

The advance team for Myrkr had lifted (ahead of schedule) two hours ago and the collection team were in the final stages of loading supplies. Their scheduled launch time was in three hours; so they, too, would probably be on their way earlier than planned.

There was no word back (yet) from the Pestage team (which he had privately dubbed the 'Pest Removal' team), but that was not worrying at this stage - to do such jobs properly (untraceably) took time, as he knew from similar operations in the past.

Station Shili reported that there was no trace of Ahsoka Tano anywhere on-planet. Disappointing, but Isard knew it had been a long-shot. He instructed the (Togruta) Head of Station to keep her people on the lookout, thanked her for her and their efforts so far and prepared to exercise his powers as 'Regent' (so much wider than just as 'Director of Intelligence') for the first time!

"MESSAGE BEGINS <BREAK> Signal to all Imperial Intelligence Stations, Imperial Military, Customs Agents and BoSS personnel <BREAK> Be on lookout for former Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano <DASH> Female <DASH> Age 19 <DASH> Species Togruta <DASH> Height approx 170 Centimetres <DASH> Blue Eyes <DASH> Orange skin <DASH> Two prominent white diamond-shaped markings on forehead <BREAK> Considered armed but probably not dangerous unless approached <BREAK> Report all sightings to nearest Imperial Military Unit together with details of any companions and transport <BREAK> Include time and location <BREAK> If transport is starship report registered name course and estimated speed or include flight plan if filed <BREAK> Addendum for Imperial Military <BREAK> Miss Tano and any companions are to be treated with extreme respect and courtesy <BREAK> Weapons are NOT repeat NOT to be used or even carried when in proximity to her and companions <BREAK> She is not in any trouble but is urgently required to attend a briefing on Coruscant <BREAK> When sighted Local Commanders to inform me immediately <BREAK> Signed ISARD <DASH> REGENT <BREAK> MESSAGE ENDS"

With the message encrypted and transmitted, Isard moved to his much smaller 'Working' Office (which had once been a mere closet) to plan and await results.

The reason for the two offices routine was that the 'meet and greet' office was intended as misdirection and as a spy trap (Isard's own surveillance cams had already caught two beings in the act of planting monitoring equipment and/or searching "the Director's office") but there was nothing at all in there that could be of value to even the most diligent searcher! The 'Working' Office (which Isard alone had access to, not even Droids being allowed inside, thus making it the most secure room in the entire, ultra secure, building) was where his real work went on. It also contained a fold-down bunk, and very compact versions of galley and 'fresher facilities; useful for the frequent 'all-nighters'. The only downside was that Isard himself had to do everything that, in the other areas, a housekeeping Droid would normally be tasked with. The price of Security (not paranoia, because he knew there were people who really were out to get him!).

    IC: Onyx Black - Toola

It didn't take Onyx too long to set up the equipment for the next morning, and she had turned in early enough to catch a few hours' sleep before morning broke. When she awoke, the storm had passed, and the sun was starting to shine in through the mouth of the cave. Rising, she moved over to the fire, where General Bryce also seated himself. She noticed he was eating, but, as usual, she felt no inclination for food until after she had done something, and simply stared into the fire, waiting for him to finish.

When he had done so, he looked over at her and asked, “Well Onyx, should we try out the holo this morning, see if anyone bites?”

Onyx nodded slowly, dragging her eyes from the fire. "Let me see if I can contact Master Yoda first. Trying to contact anyone on Coruscant would be unwise." Rising again, she activated the communication device, then fiddled with the settings for a few minutes. After she had everything set up, she switched the holo on. "Master Yoda, do you copy? This is Onyx Black. Repeat, this is Onyx Black." Turning back to Barric, she murmured, "Now we just have to hope this works..." Like him, she hoped that venturing out into the snow would be unnecessary. If there was no other way, though, she supposed they would both have to deal with it.

    IC: Darth Raptor
    Mustafar

Raptor prowled the hallways of the facility, thinking and reaching out through the Force. Something seemed to have changed since the Council meeting had broken up, a "flavour" in the Force that he hadn't encountered before was now present. While not unpleasant to a Sith, it was nonetheless making him uneasy, so (after stowing his holocron and recorder in his ship's cargo bay) he was now trying to trace the "flavour" to its greatest concentration.

As he walked, he noted (with disgust) the lack of anything that could respond immediately to an assault or infiltration attempt. No pre-positioned Droidekas, not even groups of Battle-Droids on standby-alert. True, defence of the Council was the reason Lord Tyranus had given for stationing him on this hell-planet, but there were limits to what even such a being as he could do. Numbers did indeed matter when there were multiple possible approach routes to be covered. Then his Comlink chirped! Not its normal alert for a voice communication or text message; but the one that heralded the arrival of a compressed data-packet from Susevfi.

Although firm in the belief that the Jedi had appropriated all their knowledge (then twisted it to their purposes) from the group of "Exiles" that later became known as the "Lords of the Sith"; Saarai-kaar Tyris and his lieutenants nevertheless appreciated aspects of the Jedi system, particularly their ability to contact personnel (and vice-versa) almost anywhere in the Galaxy at a moment's notice. Thus, the ship that had brought the Jensaarai to Susevfi had long been concealed in the asteroid ring girdling Suarbi 7 to act as a hidden Communications Station; and was now, thanks to their alliance with Lord Tyranus, equipped with powerful, ultra-modern, equipment. Always listening, but rarely sending - and then only in burst-transmission mode - it had been seen not only as a means of escape but also (vainly, as it turned out) as able to provide an extra measure of early-warning.

Most of the content, monitored from Naboo newscasts, was not news to Raptor (the CIS agent on Coruscant had already disclosed it) but the end section appalled him! A halt to the "terminate-on-sight" order against Jedi.... unthinkable! Amnesty, a world, perhaps several, for colonisation by those Jedi uninvolved in the assassination/coup.... even worse! The lack of action against the "walk-out Senators" was less interesting, but even he (no politician) could see that their position was now significantly weakened - nothing like being able to play the "persecuted for their principles" card to garner support, both open and covert, moral and materiel - and that was now denied them. Whoever had spun this web was very capable, very clever indeed!

And who was this "Regent", this "Isard", anyway? The man claimed to be a mere spy, could such a one be the weaver; or had he simply been acting as the mouthparts of another, still safely anonymous, player? This bore all the hallmarks of a master-schemer, a master-manipulator.... in fact, a Sidious! Almost forgotten Sith-lore came to Raptor's mind - a technique long thought lost to history.... and if Tyranus had had an entourage of Acolytes to do his bidding (not Apprentices, that would have been against the letter of the "Rule of Two", or so Tyranus had explained it; not that that had prevented that Maul-creature from using the title of "Darth") then how about Sidious? Did he have any more Force-Sensitives, part-trained as Sith, in his retinue? Beings that possibly now felt themselves free to don the mantle of a Dark Lord and pursue their own agendas?

    No matter this idle speculation! His first task must be to ensure that this new information came to the attention of the Council, particularly the Archduke - and there were some other musings to be planted in that field too. Accordingly he punched the proper code into his Comlink and spoke once the device connected;

"This is Raptor! I am on my way to see the Archduke, with news of worrying developments from Coruscant and other points to discuss. Advise the Archduke to check the News channels!"

    -----------------

    Padmé Amidala
    500 Republica - Padmé's Apartment

Padmé gazed through the window across the sprawl of the ecumenopolis below, her eyes resting on the Jedi Temple. Her chest was tight with grief; over the past half-hour she had stood and watched as pillars of smoke streamed up into the sun-streaked sky. She had paused to watch the first one turn from a thin wisp of dark grey into a billowing cloud of ash. She had stood frozen in place as three more erupted from the Temple's shell. Until the flames were visible, massive hands of orange pulling the once pristine walls to pieces. Her mind has focussed on one thing. Not the Empire, not democracy, not the galactic citizens.

    Ani...

A silent tear slipped from her eye and rolled down her face. She hoped he would hear her somehow and reassure her that he was safe. The sobs she had been denying herself were a block of ice in her throat, constricting it and making her breaths harsh. She couldn't stand to see the destruction, to think that Anakin might not survive, that he might already be dead. But she couldn't look away. It felt like one glance away from the crumbling temple would be an unforgivable betrayal.

Padmé's thoughts wandered the treacherous tightrope above her emotions; she couldn't bring herself to let the tears spill over but she could barely hold them back. She mindlessly grasped the Japor snippet she had kept for the past 15 years.

Not many times had she sought refuge in the Force, but this time she found herself asking it to protect not only Anakin, but the remaining Jedi as well. For so long she had stood alongside them, fought alongside them to end the war and protect the citizens. They couldn't possibly be traitors, and they most definitely didn't deserve to die.

The noise of Threepio's metal joints wafted into the room, just loud enough to jolt her from her ruminations. She spun, forgetting her promise to Anakin and the temple. Bail Organa had entered the room already; his neatly dressed figure startled her for a moment.

Half a second later his quiet voice spoke, barely giving her enough time to collect herself. "Padmé, I apologise for intruding like this, but you must get to safety. Coruscant is no longer safe for those who oppose the Empire."

Padmé resisted the sudden urge to turn back to the window, instead dropping her gaze to the ground. Her heart skipped a beat as the images of the flaming temple flooded the pale grey floor. Groups of Jedi flashed in her mind’s eye, their lightsabers roaring, before being replaced by Anakin’s face; fear in his cobalt eyes. She blinked frantically and found herself still staring at the ground. Tears nipped at her eyes as the shock subsided.

She couldn’t leave. Not when the Republic was in shambles, not when lives were being reduced to ash around her, not when her friends and husband were facing death.

But she had to. She drew a breath and looked up. Through the uncertainty that plagued her she heard the reason in his words. Padmé absentmindedly clasped her hands on her stomach and reminded herself of her pregnancy. If she stayed here she wouldn’t be safe; nor would her child. That fact alone made up her mind. She was a mother now, not just a senator. No matter how much she wanted to stay, or go against Bail’s advice, she couldn’t. Padmé nodded slowly and looked up, trying to find her voice.

“Thank you, Bail,” she said, warmly as she could manage. Every breath she took still ached with indecision and fear. It was not often that she felt this lost, and Padmé was truly grateful that Bail had thought to find her. She glanced to either side, avoiding the large panes of transparisteel that were now darkened by a thin layer of smoke. “Threepio,” she summoned, seeing his glinting metal casing from the corner of her eye. As he approached, Padmé spoke to both of them. “I’ll take the skiff off-planet as soon as I can. I'll just need Threepio to prepare a few belongings."

Padmé nodded to C-3P0 and turned to face only Bail; waiting to hear the droid walk off towards her room.

“Have you spoken with any of the others?” she questioned, the words fragile. She hoped everyone had already gotten off planet before the chaos had erupted, but her instincts told her otherwise. Her brown eyes scanned Bail’s face as she awaited his response; the anxiety began to gnaw at her stomach again.

'Working' Office, Directorate of Intelligence - Coruscant.

    Isard remembered that he had heard nothing about the progress of the 'mopping-up' operation at the Jedi Temple (which needed to be completed so that the Cloning Equipment could be brought through to the Main Entrance), so he instructed the Signals Office to connect him with the senior man at the scene;

"CC 9276 here, who is this?"; came the snapped answer, when the connection was established.

"This is Regent Isard, Commander. I need a SITREP on your progress".

"SIR! Most of the Temple is secure, but we suspect that there are still Jedi in the parts we haven't inspected yet. We have two confirmed armed hostiles in the Room of a Thousand Fountains, one a Padawan with a limp and a Lightsaber carried concealed in a walking cane, the other has been positively ID'd as Jedi Master Windu. There are also four Jedi younglings in there with the hostiles. Three of my men went in to Stun and collect the younglings; we've lost two and don't expect the third to survive! We've lost a lot of men, Sir, which is why that team wasn't a full Squad. Permission to set for Lethal Force on our next attempt, Sir?".

"Permission denied, Commander Nine-.... er, I'll call you 'Commander Havoc'! On my authority, reinforce your Detachment with two Companies of fresh troops and have one of them draw, and get rapid instruction on, the DC-17m weapon with the Pulsed Energy Projectile attachment. Two PEPs per four men. Meanwhile, station a full Squad at the doorway to keep observation and report on any activity that looks like an attempt to cut an escape route through the walls. The Squad Leader is authorised to loudly taunt Master Windu with phrases like; 'Release your hostages and surrender, assassin!', 'Hiding behind children? Is that how far the Jedi Masters have sunk?' and 'What's it feel like to have caused the deaths of half your Order, killer?', plus any others he can think up! Have him intersperse reassuring comments to the Padawan and younglings amongst the Windu taunts; like 'Padawan, haven't you noticed that our weapons are set to Stun?', 'We're not here to harm you or the younglings, Padawan, we just want the assassins in custody', 'Padawan, you and the younglings can walk out here at any time in perfect safety', 'Padawan, the Emperor has decreed that Padawans and younglings are to be held blameless for the actions of certain Senior Jedi' and 'Padawan, Younglings; have you considered that you've been lied to?' etc!.

When the reinforcements arrive, send in two PEP-equipped Squads together, the Squad Medics are to carry a supply of high-strength sedative injectors for restraint purposes. Your men are to concentrate on Windu. Leave the Padawan alone unless he becomes an active threat. In any case, do not Stun or PEP the younglings. Put some of your Medics into Fatigues and have them assist the younglings, and treat any of their injuries, once Windu is down. Have the 'Youngling' team attempt to make friends with them before any effort at removal. They may inform the Padawan and younglings that parts of the building might collapse; and that is why they're being moved.

Oh, yes! Make sure that all casualties are as out-of-sight as possible before escorting the younglings outside.

Commander, note and advise your troops that PEP rounds can be deflected by a Lightsaber, but I'm hoping that Windu is not familiar with them - up 'til now, they've only been issued to the Commando Squads - so he may be surprised by the blast of sound and light when they're fired.

Give me a further SITREP on this frequency once the PEP-equipped troops have gone in. Isard out!

    Malcolm Shade
    Aboard the Hung Jury, Dantoonie

“That’s fine and I can handle being a co-pilot no problem," the girl stated matter-of-factly. "Do you need a co-pilot or can you handle the ship on your own?”

    Could he handle the--

Malcolm snorted with amusement as he entered the small compartment that housed the cockpit. He couldn't blame her for being sheltered by the Jedi Order and their strict regime, but he didn't think she could be naive enough to ask such a daft question. This freighter was like an extension of himself, similar to a Jedi and his lightsaber. Of course he could handle it!

Then again, maybe she was simply toying with him. She was smarter than she looked.

"I see you got a sense of humor," he noted with a small smile, his hands starting to move across the controls. "I like that. But for right now, why don't you go strap yourself in? We'll be airborne in a few--"

The rest of his sentence was cut off by a short burst of static that filtered through the ship's comm. It was soon followed by the sound of a man's voice. "Freighter Hung Jury, please hold your takeoff," the voice ordered. "We are sending security to collect your passenger."

Well, kriff. That wasn't supposed to happen - at least, not this soon. Malcolm turned slowly to regard Tano, his mind racing through several different possibilities on how to get out of this. He briefly considered pulling off some kind of ruse to fool the security officers, but that would only go so far. Besides, they didn't have a lot of time. That left him with only one option - gun the throttles and don't look back. If they confronted him about it, he could chalk it up to a faulty connection, but he had his doubts that would happen. The Jury was fast enough to ensure that they wouldn't be able to track them.

"About that strapping in thing," he muttered as he settled down into the pilot's chair, the low hum of the engines reaching a steady crescendo. "Now would be a good time."

Without waiting for an acknowledgment from her, he hit the throttle and the Hung Jury responded by tearing out of the spaceport.

Ahsoka smirked as she enjoyed toying with Malcom a little bit. She always asked Anakin that question because she got used to him crashing the ship into a planet every now and again.

"I see you got a sense of humor," he noted with a small smile, his hands starting to move across the controls. "I like that. But for right now, why don't you go strap yourself in? We'll be airborne in a few--"

"Freighter Hung Jury, please hold your takeoff," the voice ordered. "We are sending security to collect your passenger."

Kriff. Ahsoka thought as she looked at Malcom with a frown wondering what he had in mind. She didn’t have to wait long.

"About that strapping in thing," he muttered as he settled down into the pilot's chair, the low hum of the engines reaching a steady crescendo. "Now would be a good time."

“Getting airborne now would be a good time,” Ahsoka stated the obvious in a humorous tone as she made her way to the back as the ship lurched forward. She steaded herself before sitting down in a chair. She reached for the straps and pulled them snuggly over her snapping the other ends into place. “Time to make a run for the border.”

    Mustafar, Orbit

Sitting in orbit of Mustafar were a few of the dwindling stock of Confederacy capital ships. A pair of damaged Trade Federation Lucrehulk battleships dominated the scene with their shear bulk, while several smaller Providence class ships floated among them. With the smaller escorts darting amongst the larger ships, covering any approach vector to the planet. This small fleet had been gathered from the suddenly quiet front lines to cover Mustafar until the Council could evacuate. With Sid...Palpatine dead, it was only a matter of time until Mustafar was invaded by Amedda (none of them were stupid enough to think that they served any purpose anymore with the rise of the Empire). So relying on being hidden was pointless, thus the small fleet.

At the moment, the first shuttles were launching from the lava-world, angling for the less-damaged battleship. The Trade Federation markings made it clear that those shuttles were carrying the Neimodians. Something that didn't escape the attention of the few organic crew members on the smaller ships.

"Kriffing cowards...they'll probably take the Kuruk with them too," a human said bitterly, "and there it goes!"

And indeed, the massive Lucrehulk left orbit before jumping to hyperspace. And none of the various crews were surprised. Even inside the Confederacy the Trade Federation leaders were well known cowards. That being said, the remaining ships weren't leaving until the rest of the Council had evacuated. And the steady stream of shuttles were a fairly good indication that said evacuation was well underway.

"Good to see something going well," another crewman pointed out.

Nods surrounded her as the rest of the crew agreed with that statement. But it was only natural that exact moment was when things got interesting...

    Room of a Thousand Fountains

Kriff...kriff...kriff! the lone Clone Trooper thought, backing away as the purple lightsaber-wielding traitor killed his brothers.

Though backing away did him little good, as Mace Windu turned in his direction and leaped at the lone clone. The purple blade swung down on the Clone, looking like it would end his short life. But by some miracle, the blade missed and instead clipped his DC-15 into two different pieces. CT-0261 wasn't complaining though, as he used the temporary distraction to get some more distance from the Master. Which in this case meant leaving the room behind, joining a larger group of Clones that had started to cut off all the entrances and exits, per orders from the newly appointed Regent Isard.

CT-0261 moved towards the Commander of the group, saluting as he walked. The Commander returned the salute, before handing the disarmed Clone a new blaster.

"Report soldier!" the other Clone barked out.

"SIR!" CT-0261 shouted back, "I lost both my squadmates sir. Master Windu is wounded, but it does not appear to be slowing him down. The Padawan stayed with the Younglings, one of whom is also injured. They do not appear willing to surrender."

The Commander nodded, "Good work soldier. We will handle it from here."

    "Sir!"

With that, CT-0261 moved towards the back of the group, listening as various clones started shouting into the room. The shouts varied from taunts against Master Windu, to pleas that the Padawan and Younglings give themselves up and that they wouldn't be harmed. It remained to be seen just how effective it would be however...

    IC: Obi-Wan Kenobi
    Deep Space

Obi-Wan did not have to wait long for a reply to his transmission. Instead of the expected voice message however, he got a full hologram of Master Yoda and a young Knight in a cramped looking vehicle. Obi-Wan raised an eyebrow slightly at the, situation aside, humorous image. His expression regained its seriousness when Yoda began to speak however.

"Master Kenobi. Glad to see you alive, I am. Outwitted your Clones, have you? If you are able to receive this right away, move quickly we must. Head to Alsakan, you should."

    Alsakan?

To Obi-Wan, that seemed a rather...well...random choice of world. Not to mention the fact it was deep in the Core Worlds, near to Coruscant itself. So why head there, instead of a more isolated world such as Dantooine? But questioning that wouldn't get him anywhere, and Obi-Wan knew this. It did alter his plans however. Alsakan was far enough from Utapau, that he couldn't afford a stop-over on Tatooine. The time it would take to sell Greivous' fighter (after wiping its navicomputer) and then to find transport to the Core...he wouldn't arrive at Alsakan for several days in all likelihood. And it ran the risk of running into Clone patrols.

So Obi-Wan input the coordinates for Alsakan into the hyperdrive, and sent a return message to Master Yoda.

"I have received your message Master. I will arrive at Alsakan as soon as possible."

    IC: Yoda
    Hyperspace, enroute to Alsakan

After sending the message to Obi-Wan, Yoda piloted the small escape craft into hyperspace. The slow hyperdrive aboard meant it would be quite some time till they reached Alsakan, with its position so deep into the Core Worlds. And it seemed that Knight Shern realized that, as he settled into meditation. Yoda was quite tempted to do the same, as he was feeling every one of his long years of life. The Force cried at the death of so many Jedi, and as arguably the most powerful Jedi in the long history of the Order, Yoda could acutely feel the aftershocks as they rippled through his mind.

"A tragedy this is," the elderly Master said softly, as he looked for familiar signatures in the Force.

Obi-Wan shined bright, though Yoda knew he was alive from the message. His old friend, Mace Windu, was more muted and there was pain mixed in with his familiar signature. It was evident that he was wounded, though Yoda did not know why. It likely had to do with the reason the Clones had attacked, though that still needed explaining. Shaking his head of those thoughts, Yoda felt a whirlwind of Force energy swirling around the signature of Anakin Skywalker. While the troubled young Jedi was still grounded in the Light, the Force seemed to realize that there was something important he had yet to do. And if Qui-Gon was correct, and young Skywalker truly was the Chosen One, it made sense.

Yoda was torn from his thoughts however, when a message arrived. The message seemed to originate from Toola, and Yoda pressed a switch to allow it to play.

"Master Yoda, do you copy? This is Onyx Black. Repeat, this is Onyx Black."

Normally communicating over such a long distance in hyperspace was...difficult, to put things mildly. However, the escape craft Yoda was in was fitted with advanced communication gear. Activating the device, Yoda began to reply to the message.

"Good to hear your voice it is Knight Black," the ancient Jedi began, "relieved I am that you survived."

Bail watched as Padmé looked at the floor. He was no Jedi, but he could tell when his friend was having an internal battle. It was obvious she was considering staying against his advice...likely her feeling of duty towards the Republic and Jedi. However, she took a deep breath and looked up at her friend. Bail could tell that Padmé had made her choice, which was confirmed as she began to speak.

“Thank you, Bail,” she said, warmly as she could manage

Bail nodded, a small smile on his face, though he didn't fail to notice how Padmé wouldn't look at the windows that were slowly being covered in smoke from the raging fires at the Jedi Temple. He also noticed the glint of C-3P0 moving forward after Padmé summoned him. After the droid arrived, the female Senator began speaking again.

As he explained the situation, Bail's comlink announced its presence with another call.

"The Senator of Alsakan has offered his world as a meeting point," Mon Mothma's voice came through, "We will head there now. Join us as soon as you are able."

    IC: Armand Isard
'Working' Office, Directorate of Intelligence - Coruscant.

During Isard's conversation with Commander Havoc it had become crystal-clear that he really needed to be in several places at once; certainly until the Emperor reappeared and took up the reins of power again. Appointing a 'caretaker' head of the Intelligence Directorate wasn't an attractive option (despite the fact that it would almost certainly lessen his workload); as such 'caretakers', having tasted the heady wine of Secret and 'Private' Information that crossed the Director's desk on a daily - if not hourly - basis, had a nasty history of failing to retire gracefully into the background once the need for their services had passed!

Cloning himself, while outwardly advantageous, also presented real problems, not only of the length of time it would take for a clone to be grown but his daughter Ysanne (with the mouth of a female twice her actual eleven years) had already been overheard quipping 'one of my father is more than enough!' to her school friends!

Fortunately, it was enough to be seen and heard (as well as see and hear) at a location where he wasn't; and for that, a mobile Holo-Comm lash-up would suffice. On inquiry, the Tech crew in R&D told him that they already had two experimental units, based on the R2 Astromech chassis, built and ready for user trials on Coruscant (he didn't bother asking if they had been designed and built for an operational requirement or just for practice and/or as make-work - the R&D Tech crew was forever tinkering with something or other), but adapting the slightly roomier R5 unit would be preferable for use away from the Capital's plethora of Holo-Comm nodes. Isard ordered that RH-CX1 and RH-CX2 should be delivered to the Jedi Temple entrance as soon as possible and that half-a-dozen examples of the R5-based version should be built as well.

Guessing where the R5 units would probably be deployed wasn't difficult. It was a rare Senator that didn't require the height of comfort and luxury when away from the Capital (certainly after they'd been in Office for a few years) and one System away along the Perlemian Trade Route lay Coruscant's virtual twin and long-time rival for the title of Galactic Capital, Alsakan. Due to the rivalry having escalated into armed conflict on a number of occasions (always due to the actions of Alsakan, so the history books said) the Intelligence Directorate kept a much larger number of personnel than normal directly assigned to Station 'Aurek' (so named, even in in-office memos, to avoid even the slightest suggestion of provocation) and its five or six out-stations. Where Station Shili, for example, was staffed by twenty full-timers, 'Station Aurek' commonly carried over two hundred; all of them (whatever their ID's said) of unimpeachable loyalty to the Directorate, and through that to the Galactic Government on Coruscant. "Senators"; Isard thought; "really shouldn't be let out to play on their own!".

At that point, Commander Havoc called in with a minor update. Isard's orders were being carried out to the letter, the threatened Trooper had both survived and escaped through a doorway, bringing with him intelligence that Master Windu was apparently slightly wounded, though did not seem at all inconvenienced by it, one of the younglings also appeared to have been injured and that the Padawan had apparently not engaged in any hostile activity whatsoever. In return, Isard briefed him that the two special Astromechs would be arriving shortly and requested that they be led (or, if need be, carried) to the scene when they did.

Interacting with such an obviously competent being prompted Isard to compose and send a memo to the Chairs of the appropriate Committees; observing that it was (in ancient times) common practice to confer Citizenship on anyone that had served a long period (he mentioned twenty to twenty-five years) in the Military with good conduct and also that the prefix of 'Clone' seemed to him unnecessarily demeaning and degrading when applied to troops that were loyally fighting, bleeding and dying for the Empire.

The remainder of the waiting time was spent thinking out his preferred options for the future; the existing Jedi Order, reduced to a meditative and contemplative philosophical organisation; its replacement by the 'Galactic Guardians' (or whatever name other than 'Jedi Order' was chosen) with many fewer restrictions and a much expanded training curriculum for those Force-sensitives who wanted to make a difference by protecting and serving the Citizenry; its deployment in a major operation to stamp out the practice of slavery (Isard could see that project would be close to young Skywalker's heart) with the side-benefit of the freed slaves going into (or freeing others to go into) a vastly expanded Military; the Galaxy becoming a well-armed camp, capable of smashing (or at the very least deterring) the Far Outsiders; that threat either being forced into headlong retreat or voluntarily taking itself elsewhere.

Jess shifted a little but still found the position uncomfortable. He just hoped it didn’t take more then a day or so to arrive to their destination. The soon the better, not that he wasn’t grateful, he was too big for this ship. On the bright side, the discomfort he felt from his wound was just about gone. One bright spot for his current situation. He over heard Master Yoda speaking to Obi-Wan, but now he was communicating with another Knight. There were survivors, another bright spot. He wondered how many didn’t make it. He was unconscious at the time to know whether or not some of his friends were caught up in the onslaught or not. He didn’t want to think about it, but knew he would have to face the truth sooner or later.

Jess leaned his head back and closed his eyes. “Wake me when we get there," he knew he was going to sore by the time they got there and the best way to outwait a situation was to sleep. Time usually flew by then.
He slowly drifted to sleep as Master Yoda waited for a reply from Black.

Master Windu stood still, lightsaber ignited, offensive stance. He observed the troopers, some taunted him to attack while others were yelling out pleas of surrender. He didn't say a word, and silence hit the room, as the troopers aimed their weapons at the Jedi Master, the Padawan and the younglings. Only the humming sound of the purple blade could be heard. The troopers looked at each other, confused, blasters still pointing at them. Suddenly, unbeknownst to them and in the split of a second, the whole group of troopers where in the air, flying towards the walls at a very high speed and crashing against them, crippling some bones. Ever since the first of them set foot on the room where the Jedi were standing, Master Windu began building up energy for a massive Force wave.

The feat had left him considerably tired, mainly due to his injury which prevented the Jedi Master to act upon his full potential and the fact that he had been fighting this whole time while being in pain. The Jedi took this opportunity to leave the room.

"Follow me, quick." The Jedi Master hissed at the Padawan and the younglings as they exited the room and searched for the nearest exit. "B-but, Master... I'm hurt, I can't run!" One of the younglings replied, tears falling down from his face. Mace Windu turned to see the boy and the moved towards him. He pulled the boy up and carried him out of the room as the rest followed closely behind.

    Name: Vydraa Jezrai

    Rank: N/A

    Faction: Jedi Order

    Age: 26

    Race: Human

    Canon: No

Weapons/starships : Jedi Starfighter, all black. Two lightsabers, all black hilts and two shotos, all black as well. All 4 have white blades. Both in forearms holsters hidden in the sleeves of his robes.

    Homeworld: Corellia

Appearance: Tanned Skinned, Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes, 5'11. Wear a combination of commando armor and jedi robes. Armor is black while the robes are grey. Wears a hood all the time, except when being respectful he takes it off.

Bio: Has the background of the majority of the jedi, taken in as a little child, raised in the Order and rose through the ranks from Initiate to Knight. Throughout the Clone Wars, Vydraa worked closely with the clone commandos when the Order realized that the commandos, unusually, took a liking to him, they designated him as the direct liason between the Order and the Clone Commandos. Therefore his services as in the Order and the Clone Wars are been mostly unknown except to the Council. This also resulted in him having an overall low-key profile within the Order. What no one knows is that during the Clone Wars, Vydraa had begun to question what the true meaning of "Balance in the Force" meant, and if the Jedi Order were truly doing what they should be doing for that balance or if they've begun to stray from their original path. He also began to question if there really was a difference between the use of Dark and Light Force techniques, which led to him learning some "dark" techniques on his own. When Palpatine was murdered, Vydraa knew the rumors of the Jedi staging a coup and taking over the government were false, but it furthered his doubts about the Jedi Order and what their role in all of this meant. So far Vydraa hasn't left the Order yet because it's all he has ever known. But as much as he trusted Yoda and the council with his life, he's worried that they might be looking at everything the wrong way.

Force Powers and Rank: Jedi Knight. Force Enhancement (Push, Pull, Grab, Jump, Speed, and etc.), Telekinesis, Force Deflection, Force Persuasion. Force Paralysis and Force Maelstrom are the two dark side skills he's learned to use effectively but none of the Jedi are aware of this. Currently learning other powers. Grew interested in the self-dubbed Art of No Lightsaber, where he tries to minimize the use of his two lightsabers, and two shotos, but is never hesitant when it is needed to use his lightsabers/shotos. Largely interested in all forms of combat out of the burning desire to become the most diverse fighter.

    OOC: moving things along....finally.

    IC: Timhos Gantry
    Jedi Temple, Coruscant

As we enter the Room of a Thousand Fountains, we both instinctively know the plan. Master Windu will hold off the clones, and I'll find the younglings and get them out by a back way.
I hear the distinctive snap-hiss of Master Windu's blade as he leaps into action. I quietly head around to where I can feel the younglings, using my training to make myself fade in with the surroundings, assured that with the additional distraction of being attacked by a great Jedi Master, my presence will be overlooked.
The younglings have hidden themselves within a large mass of plant life. The force signatures of the four are fearful, but they are trying to remain in control, utilizing their breathing exercises.
"We're going to sneak out the back while the clones are distracted."
I hear rustling cloth as one of the younglings tries to stand, then, with a grunt of pain, collapses back onto the ground. "Zell's leg is injured," another youngling, a girl, says. "He can't walk!"
At that moment, Master Windu hurries over, having dispensed with the troopers. "Follow me, quickly!" he says gruffly, clearly irritated that we had not already left.
The injured boy speaks up, telling him of his leg.
"I'll carry you," Windu says, picking the boy up.
He heads towards the back exit, the younglings and I hurrying as best we can behind him. We make our way into the temple's depths.
Sensing my unspoken query, Master Windu explains. "The main exits are all guarded, and the obvious other passages as well. But I know of a passage that leads out into the city, which they may not know of and which therefore may not be watched."
He stops suddenly, and draws upon the force to move some hidden catch, and part of the wall slides open. The smell of dead, stagnant air wafts from the tunnel, and we hurry along it.
As we approach a fork in the tunnel, I suddenly feel something, a recent path, the path of beings beyond the small critters which have crawled through this tunnel. Clones!
    "Master? We're not alone."
In an instant, the clones are upon us. At least seven of them, from the left tunnel. Master Windu sets the boy, Zell, down, and charges into the fray. I move to join him, but he calls out to stop me. "Get the younglings to safety, Timhos! That is the priority."
    "Master!"
    "Go!"
Two of the younglings bend down and try to pick Zell, and we hurry down the right-hand tunnel.

OOC: You put me in quite the situation now, didn't you? :p

    IC: Jedi Temple, Coruscant

The seven soldiers aimed directly at the Jedi Master until they saw the Padawan and the younglings running behind him and some of them turned to aim at them. At that moment the Master ignited his lightsaber and slashed through two of the Clones' stomachs. Their bodies immediately fell to the ground and the others started shooting at him. Windu deflected the blaster shots with some difficulty, due to the injury again. He approached quickly to close on them and gain the upper hand. A blaster bolt deflected and hit a Clone right in the helmet. Four of them remained, and the Jedi Master was now as close to them as he could get. He raised his lightsaber and swung it down against one of the trooper's chest. In the blink of an eye, his lightsaber was already on spinning away from him as it cut through the next trooper's armour. Just as the Master prepared for his next attack, a blaster bolt hit him at the side of his wrist. He growled in pain as he Force choked the remaining two troopers, clearly utlizing Vaapad to its full extent.

The Jedi Master was injured further: his left wrist bleeding, though not uncontrollably. He tore a piece of his dirty, battle-stenched robe and tied it around his wrist. He then continued through the path where the Padawan and the children headed, finally seeing a glimpse of lightness at the end of the tunnel.

OOC: And the long delayed story update is here! Finally! :p

    IC: Yoda (via message)

    Toola

"Good to hear your voice it is Knight Black," the ancient Jedi began, "relieved I am that you survived."

That message rang through the caves, bringing hope to Onyx Black and Vydraa Jezrai. After all, it confirmed that Master Yoda was still alive. Despite all the death felt through the Force, and the fact that the Clones were now hunting them...it was still a bright light in the darkness that now cloaked the Jedi Order. All that remained was replying to the message, figuring out what was going on, and finding a way off Toola. A difficult task indeed.

    But not for a Jedi.

    IC: Commander 'Havoc'

    Jedi Temple

The Clone Commander currently in charge of capturing the remaining Jedi in their Temple flinched slightly. He may not have been hit by anything, but he heard the sound of plasteel and human bodies contained therein hitting a wall at high speed. The only thing that could have done that was Master Windu, who was likely moving to escape even now. Looking around, the only troopers still with Havoc were a handful of wounded men, the reinforcements that Isard had authorized still being shuffled forward after being equipped with the new weapons.

"Kriff. Come on men, after them!" the Commander shouted, waving forward with his DC-17.

It was a sign of the loyalty and training of the clones that they didn't even question the order and ran forward, wounds or no wounds. The first into the Room of a Thousand Fountains was Havoc himself, who saw a large mound of white-armored bodies lying by the wall. A few of the troops were getting to their feet, swaying as they recovered from the impact. But most of them stayed down...broken limbs keeping them from moving, or broken spines keeping them from moving forever. Training or no training, the Clones saw blood at the massacre, and turned in time to see Windu and the other Jedi vanish down another passageway.

Havoc didn't even need to shout an order this time. All the Clones who could move followed him down the passageway, chasing after the footfalls of the Jedi. As the tunnel grew darker, the Clones activated flashlights attached to their DC-15's, illuminating the passageway...and seeing no sign of the Jedi. They could still hear the traitors, but it was apparent there was a secret path that had sealed behind them.

"All patrols, converge on Sector Besh! Clear any exits from the Temple, and don't let anyone escape. If you find Master Windu, call for backup immediately. Do not engage, I repeat, do not engage!"

After sending that order out, Havoc waved a pair of clones forward, the injured men looking for any sign of a secret door. Eventually, one of them found a latch, but it refused to budge. It was clear that Windu had jammed it to keep the Clones from following, and even a simple tactic like that would work...when the Clones didn't know where the door the latch opened was. Though it galled him, Havoc ordered his men to sit down and rest, knowing they needed it. He himself continued to listen to the comm channels, before a message came through.

"We have found Master Windu. Engaging now!!" an overzealous trooper yelled.

Havoc did a double-take, before shouting back, "No! Don't engage! Do you hear me trooper?! Do NOT ENGAGE!!"

The only answer was pained shouts and blaster fire, with the sound of a lightsaber in the background.

"Trooper? Trooper report! Did you kill the Jedi? Report soldier!!!"

IC: Padme Amidala (hopefully for the last time right Volshe? :p )

    Coruscant, 500 Republica

"It would appear we are heading to Alsakan instead. I will have to travel with you whenever you are ready Padmé, as the Tantive IV is needed to help the Jedi."

Padme was slightly surprised by that. She had studied her galactic history all those years ago to prepare for first her time as Queen of Naboo, and then to prepare for taking over as Senator of that world. And thus, she knew very well the...problems...between Alsakan and Coruscant. And it didn't surprise her that that world's Senator was one of the ones to walk-out after Amedda's announcement. It was likely that Alsakan saw this as another chance to usurp power from Coruscant. And she said as much to Bail.

“The Senator likely wants our support to form a splinter government. Why else would he gather us on Alsakan?"

Bail nodded, as the thought had (naturally) occurred to him too, "You are quite likely correct Padme. However, it is an opportunity. Bel Iblis and Corellia are well known as outcasts since this accursed war began. It would be safer to go to a stalwart supporter of the Republic like Alsakan. Whatever problems they may have had in the past."

Padme nodded herself. It did make a certain amount of sense, though it still pained her to think of leaving Coruscant and all the work she had done behind. But...she would face the challenge like she always did. Seeing that Threepio was finished with his work, she began to move to the Skiff, Bail following behind. As the vessel took off...they could only wonder what would happen. Bail flew the shuttle past a raging battle, Republic ships firing on each other. Padme could only guess what had happened...but the sight soon vanished behind the lines of hyperspace.
