Tzizvvt78 and darklordoftech, this may interest you:

There's an easter eggy possible reference to the Sith species in Aftermath. Though it's more likely just the Sith as an organization.

    What exactly is this reference?

Temmin Wexley's treasure room contains, among other things, "mysterious" aged vases with images of "men in dark robes with red faces". More likely Sith tattoos than Red Sith, but still interesting.

No, but Anakin built a lightsaber on Ilum when he was 14 and Tatooine has 1% water with the same moon / sun names. Hope that helps.

The Sith tattoos, weren't they retconned as being Nightbrother of Dathomir-based? And red and black at that.

Another thing of interest, which King of Alsakan told me on PM, is that in Absolutely Everything You Need to Know, the first Sith are described as being "a group of fallen Jedi". Likely a reference to the exiles who went to Korriban. The book also mentions Vjun in a passage on Dooku (Dark Rendezvous ref).

This is the best thing yet to be re-canonized. :D

In the very back of the book, it mentions that much of the content from the book is derived from material "Lucasfilm now considers Legends".

Casting a certain amount of doubt on whether anything in it counts as "recanonized".

That the origin of the Sith was mentioned set off the "Legends alarm" in my brain.

Yup. Ultimate Star Wars, however, does not have that disclaimer.

That seems like pretty ambiguous wording.

    The full phrase:

In 2014 Lucasfilm reclassified what is considered canon in the Star Wars universe. Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need To Know draws mostly upon information from the Expanded Universe that Lucasfilm now considers to be "Legends" - that is, stories beyond the original six films and the TV shows Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

I believe it was re-canonized in Rebels as well.

Not to mention they released it as part of Journey To The Force Awakens. Why would they do that if it's not canon?

Given the title, it not being canon would be a truly odd decision.

Maybe it was in development since before the announcement - but they added some stuff in the back (pics of a few TFU characters) to bring it into line with the Journey to TFU project - and put the disclaimer in the back so as to ensure that they wouldn't have to stick to "canon info only".

That said "drawing on Legends info" may mean that the info becomes canon once it's in this book.

This looks pretty canon to me. It seems to translate to "everything in here is canon, and some of the Legends stuff has been re-canonized". I saw a youtube videos with some authors for this and the new Leia book, and they mention that this book is canon, makes some Legends stuff canon, and re-canonizes something from the Holiday Special. (If anyone can find that I will love you forever.)

    Here is the video link:

Is this... confirmation that Red Sith are canon again?

Someone said one of the books had a reference to ancient vases with images of dark-robed people with red faces. I forget which of the books this was from (Aftermath?).

Yep. There's actually a few "throwaway" lines and scenes that either reference things or set up other things to happen later. It's a rather dense book on that front, actually, almost Luceno-esque.

...I said it at the top of this very page. :p

Edit: Also, Wookieepedia at least seems to think "Everything You Need To Know..." is canon. I know their canon Ackbar page has been renamed to "Gial Ackbar/Canon".
