No, to be fair, some did a damn about making the boards a better place. There were just a lot of people there for the power trip, and they were the ones who banned when there was the slightest excuse.

In our tranche - I think Rogue1.5 came back towards the end of my run - there were two in particular who did nothing but look out for themselves.

 

Which is probably why many mods have been mods for several years now and almost barely post anywhere or do anything at all.

 

From what I've seen in my short time here, I'd say the good mods far outnumber the bad, thankfully.

 

Nah, they're all drunkards like Ramza, or corrupt... like Ramza. Or um... Ramza like Ramza.

 

But doesn't nashira count for so many bad mods?

Not enough people call things pips anymore. It's a delightful and optimistic turn of phrase and I need to use it more. Totally serious. It'll probably be obnoxiously overused in my reviews for the next six months or so.

what if some library patron is rude to you while you're moderating? we should have access to that data

what if a mod is facebook stalking some chick while moderating and on finding that she has acquired a boyfriend flies into a rage and starts closing random threads he doesnt like? bodycams would create accountability in these scenarios. also they would be hilarious

Hey, now, Nic Cage is a man of many talents, but you really can't expect R1.5 to call him a pip!

 

I keep forgetting Tracy is a mod. She's a real pip.

Though maybe that is a key. If you're able to forget that someone is a mod from time to time, they're probably doing a good job. I have this problem with Ramza too. I have been way more antagonistic in some of our Frank Zappa arguments than I would have been if I'd remembered.
