we've got plenty of time to get the details done but we might as well sign up now because it's free so it's not like we'll lose anything. plus if we actually sign up we might actually do it!

Yup, that weekend is ok with me.

 

We need to sort out, who is part of the ground crew etc. And who's intending to come.

As for the design, Yoshee had a good idea with the pram earlier. All we need is a 'pram base' with the wheels and framework. The pilot could stand in the middle and run it off the ramp. All though this is likely to be dismal.

The bike is still the best idea for speed, we'd just have to be careful to make sure the 'additions' don't affect the stability (shouldn't if its papier mache). I'd suggest a bike, with a 'chopper' seat. Get two broom handles and 'cross' them over the back for a base to build the wings around. The nose cone should be easy.

 

Agreed. Firt things first then. Who exactly can make it for the weekend?

And also are you 100% sure you want to enter? It'll add to day/weekend, but remember it's not compulsory, we can still watch and laugh at the other fools!

This sounds like a cool idea!

Empty plastic bottles could be used for flotation - we could attach them to the wings (and the front of the bike/X-wing thingy), and they'd hardly weigh anything.

 

Yeah, the only problem at the moment is accomadation

Luke and i are in the same boat, just accomodation but i'm sure we'll sort something out.

I like the pram idea, i think if we customise a bike it would be difficult to ride and any benefits from the speed would be lost. and we have to customise it, it's no fun otherwise

i won't bottle it, it's not my first jump into water. when i was on a boat in the Great Barrier Reef me and thse Americans were having a competition of who could jump furthest into the water from the top deck (about 30 metres high). then this Japanese guy came along and did a backwards somersault

if Stoney wants to be co-pilot we can make that cloud car idea (i think it was Moylesy's)

 

As long as there is somewhere to drink, and somewhere to sleep, and someone to take the mickey out of then it'll all be fine
