I think the bike is the best option to be honest, but what do i know?
I think a pedeled powered go kart would work well
and I still think a shopping trolley
I'm just thinking about if Stuey needs to bail out quickly, a bike would be alot easier.
What, you mean we don't get to drown him?
we'd better not have the concrete shoes then
LOL No, best not use the concrete boots mcr.
Ya cant drown Stuey Rambles!!!!
Two skateboards placed side-by-side. A little like the twin-pod Cloud cars in ESB .
I just thought. Isn't it going to need some kind of rudder, coz if it stayed up in the air Stuey could end up anywhere LOL
Stay in the air??? You serious? The hope is to increase the arch of the fall!
LOL M's idea, that way we could have two pilots
It'll never get off the ramp with 2 pilots Rambles!
good to hear you all planning my impending doom so successfully!
we've got plenty of time to get the details done but we might as well sign up now because it's free so it's not like we'll lose anything. plus if we actually sign up we might actually do it!
Can people make the 2/3 August weekend then? The machines have o be in the hangar and checked over on the 2nd.
Yup, that weekend is ok with me.
We need to sort out, who is part of the ground crew etc. And who's intending to come.
As for the design, Yoshee had a good idea with the pram earlier. All we need is a 'pram base' with the wheels and framework. The pilot could stand in the middle and run it off the ramp. All though this is likely to be dismal.
The bike is still the best idea for speed, we'd just have to be careful to make sure the 'additions' don't affect the stability (shouldn't if its papier mache). I'd suggest a bike, with a 'chopper' seat. Get two broom handles and 'cross' them over the back for a base to build the wings around. The nose cone should be easy.
Agreed. Firt things first then. Who exactly can make it for the weekend?
And also are you 100% sure you want to enter? It'll add to day/weekend, but remember it's not compulsory, we can still watch and laugh at the other fools!
If yes then we can get stuck in with the design of this......beast. lol
Being a typical CR, i'm happy with whatever you guys want to do.
I'll try to be there, assuming I can find somewhere to stay... //flutters eyelashes in Az's general direction, hoping Stuey hasn't got there first
This sounds like a cool idea!
Empty plastic bottles could be used for flotation - we could attach them to the wings (and the front of the bike/X-wing thingy), and they'd hardly weigh anything.
Yeah, the only problem at the moment is accomadation
I'm up for being in the ground crew
Luke and i are in the same boat, just accomodation but i'm sure we'll sort something out.
*flutters eyelashes at Az for the hell of it*
I like the pram idea, i think if we customise a bike it would be difficult to ride and any benefits from the speed would be lost. and we have to customise it, it's no fun otherwise
Have no fear Luke, as the person in Blue i shall look for some places of accomodation as near to Hyde Park as poss.
Stoney, if you come, do you want to be the back up pilot? You know, just in case Stuey bottles out (no pun intended).
*falls off chair*
If I have my own place by then, people would be welcome to stay at mine. However, if not then... possibly hotels.
i won't bottle it, it's not my first jump into water. when i was on a boat in the Great Barrier Reef me and thse Americans were having a competition of who could jump furthest into the water from the top deck (about 30 metres high). then this Japanese guy came along and did a backwards somersault
if Stoney wants to be co-pilot we can make that cloud car idea (i think it was Moylesy's)
As long as there is somewhere to drink, and somewhere to sleep, and someone to take the mickey out of then it'll all be fine
