Plot: In the Canon, Padme dies at the end of ROTS. Change that fact and the story takes on new potential. Introduce a new character: Marcus Dade a powerful ex-jedi and a new future becomes possible for the Skywalker Family. This story takes place 2 years after ROTS and Darth Vader has discovered Padme who is hiding on Dantooine. We start off as she is on her way to the executor in the custody of an Impirial Shuttle. I'll try to do one chapter every few days. Let me know what you guys think! Any criticism is appreciated!



Part One: The Unwilling Reunion




Padme stood, trembling. Her hands were bound and tears were streaming down her face. How had he found her? Hadn?t they staged her death well enough? Now, because of someone?s fault, somewhere, she had to face the man that was once her husband again. The man who had been her loving Ani, was now the twisted monster, Darth Vader. More tears came as she remembered that fateful day on Mustafar. Many nights she would lay awake, cursing both Obi-wan and Anakin. If Obi-wan hadn?t shown up, she thought, maybe she could have turned Anakin. Maybe she could have joined him and helped him retain some form of light. But also many nights she would curse Anakin, why did he have to turn? Why kill the only man I ever loved?

She felt the Imperial shuttle land in the docking bay, and her heart started racing. What would happen? Would he kill her if she didn?t join him? Was there nothing left of Anakin, as Obi-wan said? Had the man, Darth Vader, killed all that was left of him?

She walked down the ramp onto the docking bay of the star destroyer. Two icy hands grabbed her and escorted her to her ?room.? It was more like a cell. Her shackles had been removed and she was left in the room to wait for Vader?

She remembered it as if it was yesterday. She had gone after Anakin on Mustafar, hoping to reach him before Obi-wan. She wanted to get her husband back. But Obi-wan had stowed upon her ship and ruined any plans she had. Anakin, convinced that she had betrayed him, had grasped her delicate neck in the force, and then thrown her aside like a rag-doll.

Obi-wan had left Anakin for dead after cutting off all his limbs and shuttled the broken Padme back to Coruscant. The labor was horrible, any minute she thought her body would break. And after she had given the babies names and handed them to Obi-wan, she passed out.

She was sure it was the end. It wasn?t, and she wanted it to be. She found no hope in existing without her beloved Anakin. She had made Obi-wan promise to split up the children after spending many tear-drenched hours saying her goodbyes to them-the children that she would never see again. She knew what the Emperor would do if he knew they existed. He would hunt them down and kill them, or try to turn them to the dark side. She could never let that happen.

Her mind switched back to the present, when she heard it: first the sliding of the door, then?that breathing. The methodical machine-like breathing that could only be one man-Vader. She was too terrified to look up. She just kept her eyes on the floor, tears still streaming down them. The door closed and Vader stood, just watching her. If he could, he would be crying right now. The beautiful creature, his wife, was still alive. The wife that he thought in his foolish hate, he had killed. He was overjoyed at finding her whereabouts, but scared at how she would react to seeing him as this?this THING. ?Padme?? he asked cautiously.
She refused to answer, but just continued to silently sob.
?Please, Padme, speak to me.? A desperate pleading filled his voice.
Say something. ANYTHING, he though. He just wanted to hear her voice, for one more time for her to tell him that everything was okay, that she still loved him no matter what he did, knowing that it was all for her. Nothing of the sort came.

?I demand you talk to me!? He cried in desperation.

Well I actually, cried a little, this was so sad but wonderful and like I said, I can?t wait to see where this will go.

Maybe the next chapter should be Ani walking around naked doing pushups and stuff. Im sure you'd REALLY like it then. hehe.

I've decided to do another update today since I really have nothing to do.

Chapter 2: The Family he always Wanted:


Vader sat in his chambers and closed his eyes, unaware of what he would find. His mind fell into the power of the force and he swan in its darkness. He tried to picture the man in silver in his mind and search for him. In order to find him, he needed to reach out to him. Or, wait?did the man mean that Vader already knew where to find the man, and reach out to him there?

Vader remembered the dream well. In it the man in silver came to him, lightsaber drawn. The man would fight him, laughing the whole time, and Vader would laugh as well. It was a very odd dream. It was all swordplay, almost like what he and Obi-wan had done when he?no. No, he mustn?t think of that time, that time was over and lost.

Just then he felt him, the man in silver. Dade, he said his name was. He reached out to the man, and caught him. He saw the man more vividly than he had ever seen anyone or anything in the force. And the man saw him. In an instant Vader heard Dade speak everything, even though he never saw the man?s mouth move.

Meet in Anchorhead, we will move from there. Bring no one but yourself. The Emperor must NEVER hear of this.

In the same instant he lost sight of them man. His eyes opened and he heard the request for his chamber doors to be opened. He sighed and pressed the button that re-secured his helmet. His chair turned and the chamber doors opened.

?What is it commander?? he asked Commander Asidia. The commander flinched with fear. ?My lord,? he said, ?we have come out of light speed. We are orbiting Kashyyk as we speak my lord.

?Very well,? Vader replied, ? send the inquisitors down to deal with any Jedi they find. I shall not be coming with them today. I have more pressing matters to attend to privately.?

?Yes, my lord,? and the commander stepped out of the room.

Vader sighed, stood up and walked out of the chamber.



He made his way to his private hanger bay as the other men prepared the inquisitors for transport to Kashyyk.

He started up the imperial shuttle and flew out of the hanger, his heart racing. I don?t know anything anymore, he thought as he set the course for Tatooine and jumped into light speed.


Anchorhead wasn?t like he remembered it. It had grown, and died at the same time. The city was old, very old. The planet had been colonized almost four thousand years earlier, and this was the port they used.

His head came out of the history tale he was telling himself as he saw the Cantina. Here goes nothing, he told himself.

He walked in the Cantina and the whole room froze. The bartender was cleaning a glass and she let it drop to the floor, as it shattered. Darth Vader?.here?

Vader looked around, admiring the fear that he inspired. He walked past the bar and to the southern end of the Cantina where Dade had told him to wait.

Shortly after deciding that Vader had not come to punish any of them, the cantina returned to normal, playing music and sipping their drinks.

Vader had almost decided to give up and go back to the ship, when the man in silver arrived. The room stopped in silence as it had with Vader, but this time it was different. This silence was one of awe and respect, not one of fear and hatred.

Dade walked past all the tables not waiting to look at the room, and Vader got the feeling that this man didn?t give a damn about what people thought of him. He sat down opposite of Vader. ?I almost thought you wouldn?t come,? Vader said.

?I got held up,? the man said, sighing.

?Where is Padme?? Vader was anxious to where she was. He didn?t care what else Dade wanted, he just wanted to see his beautiful angel.

?Shhh,? Dade began sternly. ?Not here, my friend. We must go to safer quarters. Follow me.?

Vader followed him outside and to the hanger bay. In it lay a magnificent yet small ship. It took Vader back to the days of Padme?s ship and?.wait?.it WAS Padme?s ship!!!! The silver ship glistened in the light of the two

 

?Padme? But?why??

?She doesn?t trust you, Darth. She doenst want you to know where our hideout is until she knows that she can trust you again.?

?but?I?m her husband! Why doesn?t she trust me?!?

?Oh yes! You?re right!? Dade said mockingly. ?you only killed about 30 younglings, over 300 Jedi and you tried to crush her windpipe and throw he in some molten lava. Why the hell doesn?t she trust you, its just?stupid, isn?t it Anakin??

The words hit vader in the face like Dade had punched him. ?I did all of that for h??

Dade is right about that one.

?Thank you,? Dade said relieved. He did not want to fight Vader. He knew that Vader was a great match for him yes, but more than that Padme had told him under no circumstances was he to hurt Vader.
?I don?t care if he chops off your arms,? she had told him sternly.

I don?t know how to react to that, maybe I will when I know more about Dade and his intentions.

?He will be fine,? the man in silver said. He gently let Anakin go, and helped him stand. Just then, Padme came running in and threw her arms around Anakin, glad that he was alive She covered him in kissed that made Yoda and Dade smiled. They knew what was transpiring between the two, but would never tell a soul. ?Oh Ani!? Padme cried, tearfully kissing Anakin and holding him tight.

?Never get a kiss, did I,? Yoda said in a mockingly stern tone. Anakin laughed as A tearful Padme smiled.

Now that was something new, the fact that they?ve accepted them makes me smile .

Yay another update.
hopefully more than one person will reply this time. Although Star_Angel, you are officially my best friend ever for being the first one. (okay maybe not best friend ever, but at least here you are, k?)

Chapter 3

Vader walked into the quarters and saw her seated at the table. She was gently pealing fruit with a young Twilek child. The child was laughing as Padme would gently throw the peels at the child and they would have little food fights as Padme would wash the fruit and then put it in a bowl full of peeled fruits. At the counter stood a beautiful Twilek female. He head covered in bright silver curling fabric.

Vader stood at the doorway. All of this he wanted. He wanted a family, he wanted children. He wanted to be the father playing with a sun. Making funny little battle noises while playing with his son, pretending to fly a star-fighter, with his son on his lap. He wanted to be the one on the floor with a young daughter, tickling her, telling her he loved her. A whimper came from his mask as he tried not to sob in loneliness and the Twilek turned. She smiled a loving smile at both Vader and Dade, a smile that vader had not seen in many years. ?Mother,? he almost wanted to say. The Twilek reminded him of Shmi, and he just wanted to hug the Twilek and have her tell him that this wasn?t real, that he was still that 9 year old boy on?no. NO. He hated that little boy. He hated that life, he was Darth Vader, he wasn?t Anakin Skywalker anymore. The light that tried to manifest itself at the Twilek?s face was extinguished by the darkness inside of him.

The Twilek gently laid a hand on Padme and whispered to her. Padme froze and gently put the fruit down. The twilek picked the child up, obviously her daughter, and brought her to the counter to help wash different vegetables.

Padme?s hands cluched the table, and then she turned to face Vader. She quickly got up and went over to him. Overjoyed at this, Vader expected her to fly into his arms. Instead he felt her punch him in the got. She kept hitting him and hitting him as Dade stepped away, not wanted to get involved.

Vader was confused. He didn?t know whether to laugh or be angry. At least Padme was showing something other than fear. ?Why?? she screamed. ?Why did you let him do that to me? You say you love me! You told me you loved me! Then why?!? She was screaming louder than Vader had ever heard anyone scream, an angry scream and a pain filled scream both at the same time. Then she just collapsed onto Vader, grabbing the black leather around his chest and burying her face in it, crying.

Feel something! Padme thought desperately. Feel anything! Show me that Anakin Skywalker isn?t dead! Show me that the man I love still lives!

Vader heard her thoughts, and he started sobbing also and dropped to the floor, Padme in his arms. He held Padme close, absorbing all he could of her touch, the little he could feel through his suit. For some reason her touch penetrated his suit, allowing her skin to touch the skin that wasn?t there anymore. Please, don?t let go, he thought, don?t let go again. I cant lose you again.

Dade walked over to the twilek and took the child from her arms. He kissed her forehead and she giggle and held her arms for him. He took her in his arms and rocked her, breathing in her scent. It had been a long time since he had held his daughter. She giggled and played with the collar of his tunic. He laughed as she gleefully pulled it and bounced in his strong, yet gently and loving arms. The Twilek smiled at her husband and daughter. She gently stroked his arm, and he gently kissed her on her soft moist lips.

?it?s going a bit better than I expected,? Dade told the Twilek.

?You call this going good?? the Twilek asked, raising an eyebrow.

?I never said it was going good,? Dade said with a smile, ?Just better than I expected.


Vader was rocking with Padme in his arms. She looked up at him, her eyes swollen with tears. ?Oh Ani,? she said stroking mask. ?I?m here,? the voice said. The

 

*looks around....* bump
*runs out*

When I first wrote this, it was a bit incoherent, cause I was just getting all my ideas out first, so some of the scenes are not in the places I want them, so I'm just editing it and everything so when you read it you dont go "BUHHH?????"

And the next few chapters arent neccesarily "sappy"...but....okay. No they're sappy, at least some of the next chapter and alot of the next one if my memory serves me correctly. So just to warn you.
Also there is going to be a lot of developing of Dade's character in the next few chapters if you guys are wondering what his motives are and all that stuff (most likely not what you're thinking)
Just curious. What ARE you guys thinking?

 

this is such a good story. I like everything about it...except the past bout anakin being in that suit. he's so hot.

?Come now Luke,? Ben said, ?We need to move quickly if we are to accomplish all of our tasks before your aunt Beru wants your back home.?

?Ok, Ben!? the young 6 year old said.

This was one of their weekly days out. Ben Kenobi would come pick Luke up and they would go into Anchorhead to do some chores and Ben would subtly train Luke in the ways of the force. He knew that if someday Luke was to be a Jedi, he would have to start training him early. Luke learned many things although he thought they were the same things that any child learned from kind old men like ben. Ben wasn?t really that old, but to a six year old, 35 is ancient.

?Step lively now,? the man said as Luke skipped through the streets. He smiled at Luke and sighed. Luke was such a young child, didn?t Yoda say that something terrible would happen to Luke? Something terrible from which good would come? Yoda never said where he got this information. Ben never really made up his mind whether Yoda had these visions himself or someone else did. He looked at Luke, so happy and carefree, yet something terrible would happen to him. Why Luke, though? Hadn?t Anakin been though enough? Did his children had to suffer for his mistakes?

They passed though the gates and into marketplace. Ben picked out certain fruits and vegetables. Certain ones he knew that Luke wouldn?t eat, and those he would use for his ?training.? Ben would have Luke move them around with the force, slowly learning the ways of the force, although he didn?t know it. Ben told Luke that all children were able to do this, and it made sense to an impressionable 6 year old. He paid for the items and took Luke by the hand. He meant to walk out of the market place, but something pulled him. It wasn?t just something?it was the force itself. It was the will of the force that he go the other way. Ben sighed, not knowing whether it was dangerous or not to go the other way. Finally he gave in to the nagging feeling and went the other way.


Vader walked through the streets, people stopping and getting out of his way. Everyone was frightened of him, sure that he would kill them just for the sport of it. A part of him wanted to prove them right, but there was something stopping him. He knew what that something was, it was the light that Padme had helped resurface in him. He had a large feeling that this light would either be the making of him, or the end of him. He wasn?t sure of which path it would take, but just at that moment something stirred in him.

His heart lept and he felt a sudden wave of the force. Something screamed at him to follow its call. Forgetting all of his duties, he spun on his heels and headed down the alley to the left.

There was nobody in this alley, it was just a simple alley joining two different sides of the market. Vader stopped and closed his eyes, something told him to search the force. A beacon called out for him. A beacon he knew only to be?no. No, it couldn?t be. He wouldn?t be here. Yes it was?it was Obi-wan. Vader became both filled with joy and hate at the same time. He wanted to run to Obi-wan and hug him, and run to Obi-wan and slash him to ribbons at the same time. The man whom Vader had considered the closest thing to a father as Anakin and the man that had mercilessly cut his limbs off and left him to die on Mustafar.

One part of him hated Obi-wan for maiming him and leaving him to die on Mustafar, while the other part of him was thankful for him saving his beloved angel, Padme. Whatever his feelings, Kenobi was getting much closer and another force adept was getting closer as well. Both force powers were equal in strength, and Vader knew it must be another Jedi. It?s a trap, Vader though. NO. They aren?t that foolish. If they kill me, there?s still the Emperor to deal with.

I have a son. Vader though, astonished. I?have?a son. A Son. Mine. Son. Me. Padme. Son.

He?s a little slow, isn?t he, well, it was probably the shock .

Vader looked at him through the mask. If the boy wasnt here, he thought, I would slice you to ribbons where you stand you arrogant old man. He leered at Kenobi and finally with an air of triumph, "I know the boy is my son."

hey I know that I might have missed them, but I really mean for Luke to be six years old here, although originally he was going to be four. So if there is anything saying that luke is four, feel free to send me a slap via pm.

Luke was almost knocked over. Son? Son?! Luke was told that his father had died on a space freighter. This man was his father? This man that Ben was so terribly afraid of was his father? He had to see the man, what did he look like?

Luke peered around Obi-wan?s legs and Vader smiled, although none could see it. ?Hello Luke,? Vader said, his voice almost kind. What is going on here? Ben thought. Vader is being?gentle? Has something happened that I don?t know of? It?s almost as if?no. Anakin is dead, Vader killed all that was left of him.

Vader went down on one knee. ?What droid parts did you buy?? he asked the young boy. Droid parts!!!!! Ben thought. He?s been following us! He did see us in the marketplace!!1 The whole thing was a ruse, to get us to follow him! Oh, Ben you?re such a fool!

?I don?t know,? Luke said.

?Well I might,? Vader said. ?Could I see them?? and he held out his palm.

Luke cautiously stepped up to vader and dropped the parts into vader?s hand.

?Well now,? Vader said, his voice still menacing, but with a kind of special air that one gets with a child, ?this one here,? he said holding one up, ?is a holograph converter. This converts holographs from from data inside of the droid into holographs.? He handed the piece back to an overjoyed luke. ?This is a restraining bolt! Do you know what this does? Well this keeps the droid in place so it can obey orders and wont run away and get hurt.? He handed this piece back to Luke now. Luke looked at the pieces and up at Vader, and with a curiosity only an unfearing child would have asked the question that everyone wanted to ask. ?Are you my Daddy??

The words stung Ben, and lit Vader on fire. Heat was everywhere, he wanted to just scoop Luke up and hold him close, tell him that he loved him and that he was his father. Ben just wanted to grab the lightsaber that was at his hip. He wanted to strike vader down and end the threat of him once and for all.

?I think so, Luke,? Vader said kindly. But he wasn?t Vader right now. Right now, he was Anakin Skywalker again. The dark dragon was still biting at him, but for now the hate was pleased and surpassed by the light.

Ben couldn?t help himself, it was as if something was pushing him. ?He is your father,? he heard himself saying although he didn?t want to say it. ?Darth Vader?s real name is Anakin Skywalker, Luke. He is your father.? What am I saying?!

Luke looked up at ben and tears began welling in his eyes, and then looked up at Anakin, who nodded. He kept looking back and forth between Ben and Anakin, as if trying to decide something. With a tearful cry, he launched himself at the father he had always wanted, but never knew he had. He flung his arms around Anakin, crying, whose arms welcomed him gladly. ?Daddy,? he cried through sobs. ?Oh Luke,? Anakin said, his own sobs heard through the mask.

They stood there, for what seemed for hours, days, months, maybe years Ben thought. It was only minutes but Anakin didn?t want it to end. He felt alive in Luke?s presence, just like he felt alive in Padme?s arms. He stroked Luke?s hair, and just like with Padme, it was almost like he could feel it through all the circuits that were his hands now.

After they both finished sobbing, he let Luke go, who went back to Obi-wan and wrapped his arms around his legs. He stared up at Obi-wan and back at Anakin, obviously not sure what he was supposed to do, if he was supposed to do anything at all.

?Don?t try anything,? Obi-wan threatened.

?I wouldn?t dare!? Anakin spat. ?How dare you accuse me of trying to hurt my son! I wouldn?t never do such a thing!?

?You hurt your wife, didn?t you?? Obi-wan said calmly.

Anakin began to speak, but didn?t finish. Obi-wan was right. Why should Obi-wan believe him. Anger grew in him. How dare Obi-wan keep his child from him! He wanted to strike Obi-wan down, he wanted to split him in two and take Luke to be with him, father and son forever.

Awww, Luke is so cute. All he ever wants is to be with his daddy and I hope that he will someday. And that they can bee a family with Padmé and Leia, but something tells me that things won?t bee that easy?

Okay so I wrote that before I read the whole thing and I guess that I was right, I?m curies about Leia, I hope that she?ll bee alright.

And Obi- Wan didn?t know that Padmé was alive and Padmé doesn?t know that her children is, complicated .

I wanted to pipe in on this story. This is one of my favorite stories on this site. I like how you are developing the characters involved. It shall be interesting how everything plays out I think. Look forward to your next update.

just a note: the next few chapters arent very exciting but are neccesary to the story. They set up everything thats going to happen for the rest of the story and you finally see the reason why Dade is helping Anakin! Quick Clue: Dade's life is extremely similar to Anakin's...a little bit.
