The name tags look great Scott!

    Dajuan,
Has anyone tried contacting the tourism bureau directly to see if they could mail them to us? I am sure if we explain why we need them we could get them. They probably do it all the time. I will try to contact them if you would like. How many are we expecting?

I was actually going to ask you if you would spear head that project Leash! If you don't mind... I'd say 100 people but probably need half that in maps, maybe 75?

    Dajuan,
Yeah, I would love to do that. You know me I live for that kind of stuff. LOL! I will contact them tomorrow and see what we can get. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

We could look into meeting someplace neutral and then taking the Metro link to downtown for the arch and or social. Or just give it as an option. It would save alot on parking. Mattering where our out of towners are staying that is.

I believe the host hotel is downtown, which is why we picked the Landing and the Arch... of course I am not a hundred percent sure of this...

    You're right on that Christina.

Leash, that's it at the moment, if you could get info cards on the places we're talking about going and maybe other local attractions I'd appreciate that.

Just an FYI - this may not be the best idea. The Susan G. Komen race for the cure is downtown the morning of the 10th. There is no parking in downtown, the race actually goes past the arch, and all of the city streets are closed. We're barely able to walk in the actual race because there's so many people down there. Plus, they bring in some big names (sports stars, local celebrities, etc.) so security is a little tighter.

All the things listed and places the group may visit for this sound fun, I've only been to like maybe one or two of them.

What would the plans be for the hospital? Are you thinking going there in costume?

    Which hospital would it be?

    Just curious....

Sounds like it is going to be a fun time. :D

I'll have to try to come up with a costume. [face_thinking]
Maybe I should visit the costuming thread to figure out where to get a Sith robe for little money.

Thanks as I have a job interview on Monday, so please keep your fingers crossed. The downside is this may impede my SW plans. parade and this. But I really need the switch.
    So here is hoping.

Just gonna through an idea out here and maybe it has already been discussed but, here goes.
For our scooter rallies we would contact different scooter shops, and other like minded businesses for freebies. We got, beer (Newcastle), drinks (powerade), t-shirts, scooter parts, condoms (trust me this was wise), toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. (we were camping though)
Thought maybe we could contact some like minded SW friendly businesses (comic book shops, etc.) and see if we might be able to get something/anything for free. We could then include in the goodie bags (if we have enough freebies), use as a door prize or free raffle at the BBQ for the out of towners.
    Just an idea.
I would be happy to do the contacting.

That's a really good idea Leash! In exchange we can put their business cards/flyers in the bags and pass them out to us local people (so in theory we would go shop there). If you don't mind calling and looking into it that'd, be good. I can help pick stuff up or whatever you need as well :)

That is a great idea Leash! Let me know how I can help if you need...

Also, something that Amy pointed out. If most people arrive by airplane or other means that don't allow them their own cars--how are we going to get them places? Mainly concerned about Grants Farm. I never thought about it until Amy pointed it out... I think the other events are close enough to take the metro.
