There's a lot of unreleased music on the DVD, by the way. The pre-visualization bonus feature presents "Warehouse Escape," most of the music from "Jungle Chase" and the action cue following "Ants!" (with some great takes on Marion's theme that I never noticed in the film). There's also some stuff on the setup menus, though I'm not sure what yet.

    Cool.

Does anyone know if the Blu-Ray edition has all the content of the Special Edition dvd?

This may be the tipping point where I consider taking the plunge for a Blu-Ray player.

Yeah, the Blu-ray disc has the same stuff.

Concord has released a few audio samples from the set. While they don't contain unreleased music, they sound great. I'm hearing Last Crusade in entirely new ways.

These should assuage fears of poor sound quality that started when Raiders leaked online a few weeks ago. Apparently it was not the final version, as "Washington Ending & Raiders March" sounds much better and contains a different (more direct) segue between the two cues.

I'm listening to Raiders' end credits right now and it sounds fantastic. Let's also hope that Desert Chase and The Basket Game aren't missing any music on the final disc.

November 11th needs to get here like right now.

I really hope some of these times aren't accurate. Seems like there is always something to worry about with this set.

These sound great and I'm definitely hearing music in these clips that isn't even in the final films themselves (specifically in "Map/Out of Fuel" and "The Nightclub Brawl"). While that's fantastic I'm a little worried things like the Anything Goes bit of "Brawl" was just an alternate and won't be on the set. I love that part.

And anyone else think they might have added just a little too much reverb in the ToD mix? LC sounds amazing though.

Yeah, the interpolations of "Anything Goes" aren't on the set. Disappointing. I guess they were recorded as inserts. I'm also annoyed that "Marcus Captured" is combined with "To Berlin" for no reason. And it's interesting to note that "Map / Out of Fuel" is an alternative version. Going by music that was in the LEGO Indiana Jones videogame, the film version is a separately recorded insert.

Awesome! Mine is apparently in transit and could arrive tomorrow.

So, any more unexpected surprises you've come across yet?

"Anything Goes" is still in "Nightclub Brawl" - the source music inserts are missing, but you hear it on strings near the end of the cue. I don't know Temple of Doom too well, but there seems to be a lot of unused and alternative music. "The Scroll / To Pankot Palace" has an alternative portion with ethnically styled percussion. "Map / Out of Fuel" is different from the film version (which is in fact an insert and not an entirely re-recorded cue). There's an extended lead into Willie's theme, but Willie's theme itself is heard only briefly. Don't worry, though - the film version insert is actually available in complete form in the LEGO Indiana Jones video game.

Interesting. It's too bad there won't be any liner notes to explain these scoring decisions but just having the music after all this time will definitely make up for it.

There are some sound quality dips in the second half of Temple of Doom.

Raiders seems to have been transferred somewhat sloppily. The pitch/speed of most cues is off by as much as a quarter of a semitone.

Does this make it unlistenable? Or will it only matter to the trained ear?

It doesn't make it unlistenable, but it's certainly a disappointment.

Can this be fixed in an audio editing program?

I just watched that comparison of the DCC and Concord versions of "Airplane Fight" posted on JWFan and it's pretty ridiculous. I really want to stay excited about this set, but this just sucks.

You can fix the pitch, but at the expense of quality. Because the tapes were transferred too fast and compressed into a digital format a certain degree of detail was lost. It's like if you take a sheet of paper and fold it up into twenty little sections. You can unfold it, but you can't make it completely flat again.

Slowing these tracks down to the proper pitch basically makes them sound blurry. It still might be superior to the DCC, but I'm not so sure...

So, for my superplaylist, I'm going to be keeping the extended Desert Chase from the old Raiders -- can anyone who's more familiar with the music in the films help with the placement, where the bonus tracks on disc 5 fit into their respective scores?

This site will tell you where everything goes.

So I'm expecting mine tomorrow, but with lowered expectations. It will definitely be awesome to finally have all this extra music, but honestly, Concord could've done better. Hopefully someone who understands how a release of this magnitude should be handled will be able to give us true complete releases one day.

Dynamic range is compressed on all three scores. ToD has too much artificial reverb.
