She's right. I've talked to Trell too, and he does take that question seriously. He isn't purposefully trying to offend people, and I never meant to imply him as one that does by the creation of this thread or other comments made.

Despite his beliefs to the contrary, he's not disrepectful about it.

now if you were tossing a red hot poker around and it happened to jam into my eye... then you apologized and said you didn't mean for it to hurt me, THEN that would be a worthy comparison.

Final thought on the subject: I have two Christians agreeing that a. my post wasn't offensive, and b. I did not mean it as such.

Wait, going back a few posts for Stacky...

I find it offensive that people inconsiderately call Jesus 'Our' Lord and Saviour, etc. Implying that for some reason, I must also pay homage to him. He had good ideas, yeah. But, he's not my Lord, Saviour, Whatever.

See, that's where I feel people take a turn into oversensitivity. I am Jewish. I am clearly not Catholic or Christian in any way. If the Catholics or Christians or any singular member of those orders refer to Jesus as "our Lord and Savior" -- they cannot, by definition, be referring to you. Since you do not identify with the group, you make the call to not be included in the word "our." If they preach as to how Jesus is YOUR Lord and Savior, then you have a possibly legitimate belief, or at least an occasion to say your piece on what you think of Jesus.

But the oversensitivity cuts both ways, and both sides have to acknowledge that there is some stuff on either side that you can CHOOSE to be rankled by as well as some stuff on either side that is outright, blatantly offensive.

The above example is the former and definitely not the latter.

I couldn't have said it better myself, dp4m. Some things are outright and obniouxsly offensive. Other things aren't, but can be made out to be worse than they are.

When I first was contacted about Trell's thread, I'll admit that given my beliefs, I could've done without it. But at the same time, I didn't see a clear cut issue that neeeded to be stopped immediately. It appeared to be just a light hearted comedic question, and as such, I was ok with it remaining up.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Trell was joking about it being unlocked, as evidenced by the ' ' he used, as well as in his next statement, saying 'seriously'.

Religion mocking = flame-baiting (potentially bannable offense)
