New Hamp Reminder about NE FF Banquet and ComiCon

Hiya,

The NE Awards Banquet is quickly approaching. This is just a friendly little reminder. If you are planning on coming (and we very much hope you are) and you haven't already done so, please send in your payment for the Banquet. (details about banquet and payment are below)

Comicon is in Pittsburgh, April 27 to 29. There are many, many SW events going on at ComiCon including panels on collecting, fanfilms, podcasting, academic themed exploration of the films, and costuming. . Friday night is a social with a showing of the film A Great Disturbance. There will be a tattoo contest on Saturday . There will be a Kids activity room all day Saturday. The Special SW Guest at ComiCon is Peter Mayhew, who will be at ComiCon at all three days.

Doors open at 6 PM, buffet dinner is served from 6:30 to 8 PM
Awards show begins at 7:30 PM
Where: Monroeville Radisson Hotel, location of Pittsburgh Comicon
How much: $25 check/money order or $26 Paypal
Admission price includes a lavish buffet, entertainment, and a door prize raffle ticket

I unfortunaly will not be able to make it, as all of my spare money is going towards CIV. Perhaps next year?

 

Although Pittsburgh FF will no doubt be sponsoring panels and events at next years ComiCon, we live in perpetual hope that someone else in the NE Region will host the NE FF Awards Banquet (its lots of fun to host it, really! You guys should give it a try for the 2008 awards )

Sorry that it doesn't look like you'll make it down to Pittsburgh. If you change your mind, we'll are setting aside a few 'at the door' tickets for the banquet.

That would be awesome to host the next FF. It does look like a lot of work! We'll have to talk it over up here and see what can be worked out. The best time I'd say to host one around here would be in the Fall. We have our biggest show of the year at that time, Super Mega Fest. We would have the most (best) turn out at that time as well. But I will bring it up at the next meeting. It does sound like fun.

As far as me being able to go this year, I to have to say sorry I can not make it. I'm going to C4 as well. I all so have the Granit State Comic Con on the 20th. right before I go to C4. So this year will have to be a no go for me. But I do look forward to reading all about and hopfully seeing some great pictures. I hope everyone has a great time.
