NYC, NY Reminder: July 27th 1:00pm

This is just a reminder that our next SWNYC meeting will take place on Saturday July 27th at 1:00pm, at the AMC food court on 42nd street.

After the movie, some of us are going to see Austin Powers: Goldmember.

No. It did not. As of last night when I bought my ticket, anyways...

We have quite a few charity functions to discuss, yes. As far as the Ren Faire, forgive me but I don't know anything about this? Is this the one in Tuxedo, NY?

We don't actually hand out agendas, we just kind of go with the flow...LOL. If there is anything you would like discussed, however, let me know and I will tell Chris to add it to the pile.

Sterling Forest (where the Renaissance Festival usually is) is in Tuxedo, NY which is north on... Rt. 17? Unclear... memory fuzzy on driving directions...

 

Yep! Route 17 is correct It's about 30 minutes past the Jersey/New York border. God, I haven't been there in years, this will be fun!

 

Acutally, it's on Route 17A. Tahe the NYS Thruway to Exit 15 (there's a sign for the fair), make a left after you get out at the light. That's route 17. Follow that to a sign and turn left onto Route 17A. Follow that until you see the parking lot on your right. You can park at the free lot, but it's hell and gone from the faire, so I like to spring for pay parking which is just right across the street. I think the faire opens at 11. Keep in mind that because Sunday is "the Lord's day" his lordship Lord High Governor George Pataki doth prevent the sale of ale and other frosty libations before high noon.

As you can see...I love going to this faire.

If anyone ever went to the RenFest and rented a costume (blasphemy!) from Renaissance Rentals there... I know the owner. (sadly, I do not believe he goes anymore...)

I don't think drinking before noon will be an issue for most people... will it?

ok you can ALL label me challenged its ok I am not familiar with NY at all... our group is planning to go to the REn faire as well, not sure if its the same time as you.... but we are going to sterling.....is that the same thing? sterling is actually in tuxedo?

I was under the impression Sterling was only an hour from Syracuse......

lol dont feel bad Strawbery. Im from Long Island and i dont know my way around anywhere but Nassau and the first few towns of Suffolk County.

The Syracuse, NY Sterling Renaissance Festival website can be located here, which is in Sterling, NY and NOT Sterling Forest.

The New York Renaissance Faire website can be located here and takes place in Sterling Forest which IS IN Tuxedo, NY and does NOT take place in Sterling, NY.

Both websites have good directions.

EDIT:

Side note: "For every 2 Adult Advance tickets purchased prior to July 29, 2002, Receive 1 (one) complimentary ticket good for any one Faire Day in August! For each Queen's Pass purchased, receive 4 (four) complimentary tickets good any one Faire Day in August! Do not include free tickets in your order total. They will be added by us when processed."

So we should definitely coordinate on Saturday for ticket purchases.
