okay so the first basic premise of this one is pretty much the plot of idiocracy, only incorporating the fact that we have now actually elected donald trump and entered a reality where it has become a plausible outcome, something that we may in fact be experiencing right now. so after 8 years of trump the american public decides that he was in fact still too smart and sets about selecting an even bigger idiot as his successor, and then this trend continues and each president is even dumber than the last, until the year 2149. the global population has surpassed 13 billion people, yet most of all technological advancement has happened in the field of sex robots, as the government has banned all other types of "science". the 73rd president of the united states jed white, who is legally mentally retarded, sets off a global nuclear war on his first day in office. half of the earth's population is wiped out in the initial carnage, and 90 percent of those remaining die off in the subsequent nuclear winter. society crumbles as a handful of sickly humans scrambles for basic sustenance. in the wake of the fallout the name jed is forbidden, not specifically in any law, but in the same way that no one names their kid adolf. except there is this one family who bucks the tradition and always names their eldest son jed, because they believe that jed white was just a simpleton who should never have been given that level of power. so in the year 2347 the earth begins to heal and return to normal but society is worse off than ever, and this guy "the last jed" has to somehow unite humanity and build his utopian society before they repeat the mistakes of the past.
