I started writing the new chapter... yesterday... and I just wrote... 10 lines...

I promise that by monday, I'll post it!!! I promise...

 

Chapter Twenty-Six


Laya was now sat down in the cockipt of her ship. As she had told to Jayden, it was the first time that she was flying a ship in combat. ?Pilot this thing is like pilot a normal ship? I?m sure.. ? she thought.

She looked at instrument panel that was in front of her.

?So.. let?s see if this works!? she said, switching on the ship.

? I knew it? it?l like a normal ship? although it?s smaller? and I?ll be at a battle with it? ? she thought.

Not very secure of herself, Laya followed the other ships, leaving the Base of the Rebels and then, Yavin. It was there, in space, that the battle was going to unroll.


?Stand by alert. Death Star approaching.? Said a voice in the intercomunicator. It was also the same voice that said: ?All wings report in.?

?Red ten standing by.? She heard a pilot saying.

?Red Three standing by? said another pilot. All of them said the same thing, including Laya and Luke.

?Red Five standing by.? Said Luke.

?Red Four standing by.? Said Laya.

When she said that, Laya felt that the insecurity that she had when she letf Yavin, had gone completly.

?Lock S-foils in attack position. ? said the voice of the intercomunicator. ?Put your deflectors on double front!? he said.

?This is Wedge? Oh my! Look at the size of that thing!? he said, shocked.

Nobody spoke? it seemed that were all shocked? it was that they?d to destroy? ?It?s amazing how with a shoot can destroy this whole thing!?

?We?re starting for the target shaft now.? Said the Gold leader.

?I?ll cut across the axis and try to draw all their fire.? Said the Red Leader.

While this happened, Laya was watching Luke?s ship and was following it ; she was.. protecting him.

?This is Red Five? said Luke.? I?m going in.? He added.

Then, some fighters of the Empire almost hit him.

?Luke pull up!? said one pilot.

?Luke, are you allright?? asked Laya.

?I got a little cooked but I?m okay. ? he answered.

?Here it is, this deflection tower? I?m going in. Cover me Porkins. ? said the pilot of Red Three.

?I?m right with you, Red Three? ahh I?ve got a problem here?? said Porkins.

?Eject!? said the Red Three?s pilot.

?I can hold it!?

?Pull up!?

?No, I?m allright?. Ahhhhh!?

Laya looked at Porkins ship and saw it being destroyed.

?One more.. ? she thought, with sadness.
It was then that she sensed something? and heard.
?Luke , trust your feelings? said Obi Wan?s voice to Luke.

?Luke?? started Laya.

?Yes, Lana?? he asked.

?We?ll destroy it!? she said.

?I know..? he also said.

From the intercomunicator, they heard again a voice, that said:

?Squad Leaders, we?ve picked up a new group of signals. Enemy fighters coming your way.?

Laya started to shoot , hitting some enemies? well ? some Imperial ships.

?I don?t see anything coming? Oh, here they are!? said Luke, starting to shoot too.

During some time, nobody spoke? the only thing that they?re doing was watch ships being destroyed? Rebels and Imperials ships.

?Red Leader, this is Base One. Keep half of your group out of range for the run.?

?Copy, Base One. ? said the Red Leader. ? Luke, take Red Two, Three and Four. Hold up here and wait for my signal to start your run. This is it!? he added.

?Here we go!? said Laya. ?It?s a hit!? she said.

?Neative, negative. It didn?t go in, just impacted on the surface.? Said Red Leader.

?REd Leader we?re right above you. Turn to point five, we?ll cover you.? Said Luke.

?No! Get up for your attack run.? He said.

?I?m with you, Luke.? Said Laya.

?Me too?? said Wedge.

?Lana?Wedge? let?s do it!? said Luke.
While they?re going to the local of the attack, Luke (and Laya) heard again, Kenobi?s voice.

?Use the Force Luke. Let go Luke. Trust me!?
While this was happening, many fighters approached and Laya and Wedge did everything that they can to destroy them.

?I have a little problem on here!? said Wedge.

?Go away

 

LOL! HAHAHAHAHA! No I mean..good twist..

 

Now that was one short Battle of Yavin

Laya hugged Luke.

?I knew you could do that!? she said, smiling to him.

?Without you, I couldn?t do that!? he exclaimed.

Laya shook her head.

?Oh? Shut up! I didn?t help you so much!? she said.

She let Luke go and went to the place where Jayden was. He was smiling and looking to her, all the time.

?What?? she asked.

?Oh? nothing? Nothing? ? he answered. ? See, Luke thought the same as me?? he added.

?He didn?t call me guardian angel as you did...? said Laya.

?Oh.. you probably aren?t a guardian.. but you are an angel??Jayden said.

Laya looked at him, attentively, trying to find out if what he was telling, it was in some way.. true. But the only thing she saw it was he, smiling? that beautiful smile.

Laya turned back to him and said:

?You?re kidding me??

It seemed to Laya that he was going to say something, but Leia Organa spoke first.

?We need to celebrate!? she exclaimed. She got hold of Luke and Han?s arms ans started walking.

?Let?s go, your Highness!? said Han.

And everybody followed them.

Mara was walking till the Imperial Hospital. Lord Vader had been found in bad condition, after the Rebel attack to Death Star.

She stopped walking. She had arrived to the room where the Dark Lord was. Watching all the movements of the doctors, was Palpatine.

?How is he?? asked Mara.

?Better?? said Palpatine. He wasn?t very happy with that. He turned to Mara and said: ?After Lord Vader recover totally, you will go with him in missions? we?ve to destroy the Rebels. But, while he?s not totally recovered ? you will go to Hapes? I need you to talk with the queen Ta?a Chume.?

?You know very well that I don?t like very much of? diplomacy, my Master.? Said Mara.

?I know? but it will be just for a few weeks. Then, you will get in action? and you?ll do what is destinated to you. ?? Palpatine said. ?YOU WILL KILL LUKE SKYWALKER!? he added.

Mara looked at him? so? that was her destiny?
She looked once again at him, knelt down and went to the Imperial Palace.

Laya was preparing herself to the celebration that was going to start in some minutes. With a black suit, hair loose? ready to receive the post of Commander.

?Always in black.? Said someone, behind her.

Laya looked and saw Jayden.

?I like black..? she said, smiling.

?And it suits you?? he added.

Laya smiled, once again.

?You?ve already told me!? she said.

Laya started walking, but Jayden got hold of her arm.

?This is your new lightsaber?? he said, giving it to her.

Laya got hold of the lightsaber and looked at Jayden.

?I made it..? said him.

?Thank you!? she said hugging him. And in that hug, Laya felt security? a security that she didn?t feel a long time ago? She remembered again what her father had told her? maybe he was right.

It was too , the fact that she was feeling so good with that hug, that made her let go him.

?I understand that Master Wondu doesn?t think that I?m already a Jedi, because I wasn?t trained in the Light Side?? Laya started.

?To him and to all the Jedis, you?re a Jedi Knight? not yet a Jedi Master?? he said , smiling. ? But, it takes some time.? He added.

Laya laughed.

?Ok? so and what about you?? she asked.

?I?m no longer a Jedi Padawan? I?m also a Jedi Knight, as you.? He said, seeming proud of himself.

?So, you shall be very happy?. You?re a Jedi Knight, your brother is with us, the Rebellion destroyed the Death Star?? she started.

?And I am with the people that I love?? he asked.

She looked surprised with that question.

?Yeah..? she said.

?Yes, I?m very happy!? he added, looking at her.

They smiled and started walking.

?Well, I have some people waiting for me? Luke, Han and? uh? Chewie!? she said, with a funny look.

?Sure? Go there? I?ll be watching all the celebration..? he knelt down ? ?Commander Skyler.? He added.
