If your looking to build one, then i have no idea, alot of it is machine done, so your going to need access to a workshop of some kind, for ideas heres a few good sites to check out

    http://lightechindustries.com/main.html

    http://www.parksabers.com/

    http://randomsabers.com/index.html

no idea if they'll help u build one, but it should give you ideas, i dont know anywhere in the uk that sells sabers apart from the fairly brakeable replica FX sabers. as for building your own,

http://boards.theforce.net/Costuming_and_Props/b10019/15796050/?579 seek and you will find in your very own forums, thats just on exaple i could find in the passing ;)

    Good luck

toyed with the idea of creating my own saber with me mate, he recons any metal should do it and it all about cutting it and fashoning it to your likeing

it just depends what you want it for, if its just for show then giving it a bash yourself isnt a bad idea, but i have to say i like the look of the stunt sabers that are in random sabers website and their designed for proper dueling, the only probs is its american and importing is a pain in the butt at times.

if you get any ideas please let them be known here, would be interesting to hear them.

i'm get a parks a soon as i can. quality wise, from what i've heard they are top notch and can be beat, plus they can sell you a belt to hang it on if you dont have time/to lazy (i'm the later!!) to make your own belt.

when we talk about "replica's" i'm assuming everyone here knows they arnt going to lop off anyones arm or anything .... thats unless you find out about the secret prototype i have built .....

anyway ... yeah, replicas ... not dangerous ... yeah thats right .. no cutting off arms .... sure ....

    :D
    Cheers

well here i am nearly a year after my origonal post and i still dont have my lightsaber (pc and kids swallowed all my money) havein kids and being a star wars fan is impractical. my wife would love nuthing more than getin me my saber but theres always sumit that gets in the way pc's, kids birthdays, christmas i mean who thought up these things some none star wars loveing goite that dont understand just how important star wars is. my advice to eny young star wars fan stay single dont have kids and if unfortunalty u have kids n a wife dont let em near the pc.

(srry had to get that of my chest)
