    I just found out that Majel Barrett Roddenberry, wife and matriarch of the Star Trek franchise, died in her sleep this morning.

    I just saw this myself.. She was an amazing lady, we saw her many times at conventions, and she was truly dedicated to her fans and to Trek.

    As a Babylon 5 fan I mourn her death. She performed a role for B5 - both in front of the camera and behind it. She played a Centauri matriarch in the show. She also stated that Gene Roddenberry would have loved Babylon 5. In her estimation B5 captured the excitement of the classic Trek better than Trek's own sequels and spin-offs. High praise from the Queen of the Great Bird of the Galaxy.
