    Hello Jedi Friends,

So, I was in Florida recently and I decided to check out the local of the Convention and get an idea of the set of up things. Here is a compilation of restaurants, convenience stores, and coffee shops nearby. I will break it up into a miles radius.

    Restaurants Available (close to OCCC):

These are all within one mile of the OCCC, and in walking distance. They are not spread out to wide and are very close to the OCCC.

    ~Olive Garden
    ~Bahama Breeze
    ~Cafe Tu Tu Tango
    ~Vito's Chop House
    ~Race Rock
    ~Cricketers Arms
    ~Sweet Basil Thai Restaurant
    ~Tony Roma's
    ~Damons the Place for Ribs
    ~Boston Lobster Feast
    ~Wendy's
    ~McDonald's
    ~Burger King
    ~Subway
    ~Pizza Hut

    Convenience Stores (close to OCCC):

These are all mainly close to one particular intersection

    ~Exxon
    ~7-Eleven
    ~Circle K

There is also a Walgreens and Publix within walking distance of 2 miles.

    Coffee Houses:

    ~Dunkin Donuts
~Starbucks - This is also situated right inside the Peabody hotel.

I hope this helps answer more questions about the area for you. If you have any further questions, just ask me and I will do my best to help out and answer them.

Huggles, and cannot wait to meet some of you!

You guys had to know I'd add this to this thread....

I have put quite a few of these places on the ongoing Google map already (which has a new, easier bit.ly URL to use now!): http://bit.ly/ffswcv

But I can add more if I can find them on the map.

Downtown Disney is not too far from the convention center, and there are some fantastic restaurants there. Great bars, shops and general nightlife there, as well.

Yea, that Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney is nice. Although, at the table I sat at, I had a truck held to the ceiling with 4 wires dangling over my head; awkward. It seems like there are plenty of places to eat around. From what I've been reading, its always best to eat way from the con.

Raglan Road is my absolute favorite restaurant in Downtown Disney. Very lively, great music, and the food is outstanding.

Even closer is Universal City Walk.

Yeah, I was thinking Universal City Walk would be a good bet too. Does anyone know about the restaurants and bars there?

Good info in this thread so far. Thanks all.

Been doing a little research on IRideTrolley.com. $1.25 per ride; children with an adult FREE; 1-14 Day passes available on-line from $4.00-$17.00.
You can take "INTERNATIONAL DRIVE" I Ride Trolley north to Bus stop #7; get off at "Wet N' Wild" and walk 1/4-1/2 mile to UNIVERSAL MOVIE STUDIOS/ISLAND OF ADVENTURE.
Head south on "INTERNATIONAL DRIVE" Bus stop #33 for SEA WORLD ORLANDO.
    Nothing like planning ahead!

The main transportation company in Orlando is actually pretty inexpensive. We have kind of a 'VIP' pass with them, so that will help out a lot with expenses.

Citywalk has a lot of chain restaurants: Tony Roma's, Bubba Gump Shrimp, Buca di Beppo, and the Hard Rock. There is also Wolfgang Puck and Jon Lovitz Comedy Club. The area is pretty nice. It really depends on what your tastes are.

Just a general FYI for all non-Floridians: I-Drive is jam packed with restaurants! Some of them are kinda sketch, so use your best judgment!

Found these food options at the official Convention Website for the West Building:

    http://www.occc.net/pdf/Info_CenterplateRetailLocationsWest.pdf

    http://www.occc.net/Attendee/Services_Dining.asp

Now does anyone know the prices and quality of these places?
