I kind of want Snoke to either wield power we haven't seen before, or be a complete fraud.
I will also accept him being Plagueis.

 

Wasn't Plagueis killed in his sleep?

 

If Snoke turns out to be a complete fraud, I would have to say that would be the most disappointing thing for me personally that this trilogy could do.

I have a feeling that it's an extreme possibility though.

 

That's the twist! He wasn't. Or he wouldn't have been in this scenario. Haven't you read the gobs and gobs of speculation tending toward self-delusion about this topic? Or was that during your exile in the leadup to TFA?

 

I almost suspect Snoke's true nature was unknown to the makers of TFA and that they're leaving it to the rest of the trilogy to decide.

 

B3 I have that impression as well.

In fact the whole movie leaves me with that impression

don't get me wrong I love TFA, it's my second favourite so far, but the movie did have a "lets just see how people react this movie before we do anything else" vibe to it

Yep. I find it curious that they seem to be following Lucas in making it up as they go along.

 

I saw the spec about Plagueis and immediately dismissed it


Have you seen the end of Lost? JJ has no idea what Snoke is or who Rey's 'rents are.

 

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's just Abrams' MO. We still have no explanation as to what the Cloverfield monster is. It's not even mythopoetic, it's just mystery for the sake of mystery. Abrams just likes to be vague.

 

Because of the issue of Plagueis being dead, albeit in now Legends material, they will have a lot of explaining to do regarding his whereabouts between Ep. I-VI if Snoke turns out to be Plagueis.

Outlook not good.

 

The thing about the Plagueis speculation is that it began before we knew there was a Snoke. It began as soon as it was announced there would be a ST. I think that's why it won't fully die even now.

 

I'm hoping Snoke is either Yoda sized or 10 feet tall or even bigger than the hologram

if that is indeed the case lets hope Johnson gives us something, even if it's not much in the next two movies.

I am hoping that he has at least some connection to Palpatine, or that Palps was aware of his existence.

Since the Plagueis novel is popular amongst almost all SW fans, I don't think they will change that story or change his species from a Muun.

JJ's great at casting and pilots. And he was ahead of the trend of bringing back vibes of the '80s

 

Yeah, just don't diminish Palps. That's all I ask. Snoke can still be a bigger fish as long as they don't throw Sheev under the bus to do so.

As they have basically annihilated the EU, I wouldn't be too sure about that, my friend.

On another note, I was totally on the TFA bandwagon when it came out, but since R1 was released, my estimation of TFA has been falling rapidly.

Last time I watched it, I stopped halfway through out of boredom. Could have been my mood, but there are a lot more things that bother me about it after all this time and at least 10 viewings.
