Yes but don't you feel refreshingly young now?

    Ha!

Well, given the fact that I think I may be going to a concert this summer...sure, let's go with that:p

I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I started listening to classic rock when I was around 17 and although I'm not exactly a fan of Pink Floyd, it would be weird if I didn't know about Roger Waters. :p But I also liked some of his recent political statements.

That's a really good pic of him too. I googled some other pics of him--IMO he's one of those people that looked better in his 50s/60s than in his 20s.

I do know of one Roger Waters solo track that I really, really like:

ahhhh (I just listened to it)!...amazing what that song does in just over a single minute's running time...pretty powerful, if you ask me!

I'm watching CBS Sunday Morning and realizing that I don't know anything about Gregg Allman. Including the fact that his first name was spelled with 2 "g"s...

And then there's his clone, Gregggg Allllman.

All kidding aside, it's a sad thing and the end of an era.
My hope though is that maybe hippies and rednecks can find common ground in their grief and thus begin to heal the cultural divide in America. Or something like that.

Well said. It's sad how divided our nation is. You can't talk about anything anymore. Everyone's mind is made up. There's no give and take. Well you can still  talk about Star Wars.

Hey, in my defense, I eventually figured out who it was on my own! I'm not clueless about classic rock, on the contrary I like to think I listen to it fairly often. But I'm not super good at recognizing a lot of ageing rock frontmen on sight.

Full disclosure I'm a little young for that song too. I used to think the video was dirty and most of the '80s references were lost on me, even if I'd heard of Madonna and U2.

Me and my friends would just sing what few words we knew from the chorus on the bus.

I like that it's multiple choice. It gets you thinking in terms of language families, which makes it a lot easier... until they have Hindi, Marathi, and Bengali all as choices. :p

    Lol, on Pirates:

    - My brother said he doesn't want a POTC 6 because he said it feels like they are dragging it out
    - I said I didn't want a POTC 6 because 5 felt like a natural ending
    - You could hear the disappointment in my dad's (the least nerdy of us 3) voice, he wants another one! [face_laugh]

I saw this game a while ago and its really neat! Although I do so very suck at it! [face_laugh] Its neat though to see languages I didn't know existed in it too.

Yes, DarthAnakin96 ,that game keeps kicking my ass too lol

Playing the game made me google how many languages are currently spoken in the world today. Apparently the answer varies but is somewhere upwards of 6,000 (though a lot of those are only spoken by a comparatively small number of people). That really blows my mind!

Tolkien was a linguist and only wrote LOTR to give historical context to his passion for language crafting. But you guys/gals probably already know that. Glad he did as LOTR is my favorite book(s). :)

I actually was only vaguely aware of that, but it makes perfect sense in light of the second-hand Tolkien exposure I have absorbed via my friendship with B3:p (I've never actually read any Tolkien--yes, yes, I know:p--and have only seen one of the LOTR movies plus the animated Hobbit when I was a kid)

Gotta scoot. See all you mah-velous RYL peeps later! *waves bye*:D

OK so I can be OK with you not having seen Pirates (there's a buncha franchises I haven't seen) but NO TOLKIEN?!

    For shame Penny! :p

I got only 350. Didn't wanna play again because it frustrated me. :p I could recognize French (duh :p), Danish and Korean. All the other languages were African or Asian. I've never heard Vietnamese, for example. But learning languages is awesome.
