Yeah I have no doubt he'll be awesome!
Indeed, North by Northwest and Vertigo are probably my favorites if I had to choose but love most of his stuff.

Thanks everybody for the condolences. Your severance packages will be very advantageous to me in the near future I can tell. Also you roses you sent me were the best.

I'm about to go to sleep like a rock drops to the bottom of the water. But I just had a crazy mondo literally too-tired-to-see-straight moment of clarity when I saw that Jar Jar gif: TFA is like TPM. I think? Yes.
    Maybe.
Jar Jar=BB-8 or Finn. Definitely something like that.

Yeah, I love North By Northwest. Great story and acting. Vertigo is amazing too, a real mind bender.
I also like Dial M For Murder and Lifeboat quite a bit.
There are still so many I haven't seen.

That's cool Dandelo which ones did you see?
Oh, I never knew he did that! How eccentric!

    Dagobahsystem

    Psycho

    The Birds

are the first two that come to mind :D

I'm trying to remember if I have seen Rear Window too.

yup he did many eccentric things :D

gets it from his parents I think, like when his dad sent him with a note to the police station. The officer read it and put the young Alfred in a cell for a day, the reason? well that apparently what happens "when bad boys do bad things" he had a disliking for authority figures ever since.

Indeed! I saw a documentary about Psycho and they discussed that story about the police and the young Hitch. That is why he included the lengthy shots of the officer tailing Marion Crane in the film. Hitchcock was terrified of the police. Dandelo

Oh, The Birds was another one I saw ages ago. Great film. Very creepy. Birds are like dinosaurs, just smaller. :)

Also, note that her name is Crane and Norman has stuffed birds. Hitch had a bird theme going apparently.

Yes, they did. Special feature on the dvd. Hitch's daughter said it was exaggerated though and the cops only put him in a room, not an actual cell. Nevertheless, he was terrified of the police.

Kubrick is my favorite director as well Evening Star

"What do you know about caring? Have you ever seen the inside of one of those places? The laughing, and the tears, and those cruel eyes studying you? My mother THERE?

oh but she's harmless. She's as harmless as one of those stuffed birds"

That scene in the parlour with Marion and Norman is terrifying. I feel so bad for her. And just when she decides to return the money and come clean, Mother appears. Masterful filmmaking. Dandelo

What are your favorite Kubrick films Evening Star ?

Dagobahsystem A Clockwork Orange, 2001, Barry Lyndon, Dr. Strangelove.
I went to a Kubrick exhibition in Paris in 2011. It was the last day and it was crowded, but I'm so glad I decided to go. :)

Just like with Star Wars, I find it nearly impossible to rank Kubrick's films. Each one is a masterpiece, imo.
I really like Paths of Glory and Barry Lyndon.

See, that's what I mean, each film you named is a masterpiece. Dr. Strangelove is unbelievable! The Killing and The Shining as well.

So, what was the Kubrick exhibition like?

    You guessed correctly Dandelo !

Gentlemen, there's no fighting in here. This is the war room.

Plus, it has James Earl Jones!

I have to admit I didn't like The Shining that much. I mean, the movie is good, but there's something about it I found a bit underwhelming. Maybe I expected it to be more scary. :p

The exhibition was amazing, of course. There were his photographs, props and costumes from the movies, screenplays... Basically, what any fan would enjoy. :D
