Return of the Jedi Expansion? Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie, and more?

I wonder if we'll see a Star Wars TCG: Return of the Jedi Expansion by the end of the year? I'm hoping for Luke Skywalker (as a Jedi Knight), Han Solo (as a General), Leia Organa (as Slave Leia), and Chewie (as the kickass wookie)! I'm also hoping for Darth Vader and the Emperor! Mostly I'm looking forward to Slave Leia Character Cards though, yeah, I'm a prev, I know. ;-)

According to the Brand Manager on Wizard's official website, we have the following releases:

• Mid-March 2004 - Rogues & Scoundrels, of course.


• July 2004


• November 2004


• 2005 is being scheduled

I'll take the opportunity to speculate on 2 separate paths:

Path 1

• July 2004 - Return of the Jedi major release


• November 2004 - RotJ minor expansion


• March 2005 (or a postponed date) - Episode III major release


• July 2005 - Episode III minor release


• November 2005 - Episode I major release

Path 2

• July 2004 - Episode I minor release


• November 2004 - RotJ major expansion


• March 2005 (or a postponed date) - Episode III major release


• July 2005 - Episode III minor release


• November 2005 - RotJ minor release

However, they can do pretty much whatever they want. I can easily see EU worming its way in somewhere.

I'd like to see some kind of "Jedi Mind Trick" mechanic in the RotJ release, and, or course, the most powerful version of Luke seen yet.

 

It certainly seems we are going to have our hands full...

 

can't want for more expansions.. but I sure wish the current ones were more available.

Not even target or Toys R Us are carrying them here anymore. I had to beg my local comic book/card dealer to order ESB... I'll probably end up having to buy it all off of him to ever get anything else.

He has been keeping a nice stack of 10 cent commons/uncommons to search through though *big grin*
Those I found in that stack are the only BoY and JG ones I have :/

They seem to be coming out fast!

I'll bet RotJ is not far off.

 

I think theree will be one more Empire expansion after Rogues and Scoundrels adn then we will deff see RotJ next. Then they can finish that up in time for Ep3. Hopefully when Ep3 comes out we will see a spike in interest and advertising for this game.

Well, it seems to slowly get there, a little at a time.

 

Well, we're all wrong guys-n-gals... it appears the next expansion will be Phantom Menace, unless this on-line retailer has been fibbed to:

The blurb states it will be a 90-card set, and include not only TPM characters, but other EU characters not during this time frame as well.

 

Oh, actually, I guess they are on my Path 2... However, I think it's unlikely they'll drop 2 major expansions in a row (RotJ and Ep. 3). I dunno... we'll see!

A person who said they went to the recent GAMA gaming show in Vegas said the Nov. expansion would be RotJ, and a 110-card set. I don't know how much weight to put on this, but that's what we've got for now.

As far as EU goes, the Apr. 2nd expansion, Rogues and Scoundrels, is going to have quite a bit. Kyle Katarn and some of the major players from Shadows of the Empire make their first SW:TCG appearances.

 

ooh, cool.. I'll have to try and look out for that set especially then (like I'm not already searching every store for ANY SWTCG cards. :\)
