Memph, TN Return of the TIMAX - Drive In Night, May 17, 2008

I hate when the weather doesn't cooperate.

Hopefully we can get together no matter what, but it would be nice if it didn't rain...like it's supposed to all week.

Edit: Oh, look at that. It's supposed to rain both Saturday and Sunday (in addition to Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week.....) Argh.

 

It doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate with us for this weekend, so the Drive In Night is going to be delayed one week. The new date is Saturday, May 17.

Sorry for the delay y'all but I hope everyone can be there on the 17th.

 

Thanks for announcing that, Nicki. I'm going to need more time to prepare than anticipated. The screen repair has turned into more of an overhaul, since I found a little more damage now that I've started repairing it. But... and be afraid... I'm making some modifications to make it more resistant to tipping, and believe it or not, the frame going to be about a foot or two shorter after I'm done. But, it'll be a little wider because of some of the changes, but not much. And it'll have a larger footprint and an improved system of anchoring it into the ground. In other words, TIMAX is getting a facelift to get it through the next five years.

 

Can't make it on the 17th.

It's been warm here for almost the entire week.


And *&^%$#@! the ******** bouncers who won't let you in the pub when you're almost about to piss yourself in public, you're so desperate.

 

That's when you make...use...of the exterior wall.

 

Did I get edited for swearing? Must have been more drunk than I realised.

 

Oh, you were pretty plastered last night when I talked to you, my friend!

I was so jealous... He was at the pub, and called me while I was at work.

Sure... Rub it in!!

OK, back out to the PVC mountain. The construction continues, and I have to stay ahead of the rain.

 

Three towers down... one to go. I should have the majority of the construction done tomorrow evening.

It won't be good and dark until about 8:30 Saturday night, so that's when we'll start the movie.

 

Ah, cool, cool.
My work schedule is the same, so I'll be getting there maybe around 9:30-ish.

Everything's looking good for tomorrow! The screen frame is finished and is back in its full upright position, and the weather's going to be great.

Don't forget your lawn chairs, snacks, & mosquito repellant!

I had a work conflict and didn't end up getting off until 8:45. By then, I was too tired and mad to make the drive. Glad you guys had fun tho! Maybe I can make the next get-together.
