Mara stretched out in her seat in the diner and picked up her glass of lemonade. She sipped it slowly and glanced around. Her contact hadn't approached her yet; she was getting impatient. Luke had asked her to come here to meet a guy who was supposed to tell them about some guys smuggling Sith artifacts. Mara had accepted the mission because she was eager to get out of the Temple.

But she was bored.

If her contact didn't show up in five minutes, she decided, she'd leave. They could find the artifact smugglers another way. She finished off her lemonade and put the glass back on the table. Finally, disgusted, she stood and headed for the exit. Outside, she glanced up at the full moon. Bothawui's moon was beautiful this time of year.

She was so distracted by the sight that she was startled when a large, black bird flew down right in her face. She shrieked in surprise and shoved the bird away, her hands coming back full of feathers. The bird squawked and flew back to wherever it had come from. Mara dusted the feathers from her hand.

"Don't move, lady," a soft voice said.

Mara hissed. A man stood behind her, a vibroblade suddenly pressed against her kidney. Slowly, she dropped her eyes down, trying to catch sight of the blade. She saw it out of the corner of her right eye, and prepared to move...

She jerked to the right and grabbed the man's wrist, twisting his arm violently. He dropped the blade and growled, kicking at her. Mara caught his blow on her right thigh and grunted, jumping back. She reached for her own vibroblade and jerked it from its sheath. She slashed at the man, who dodged and threw himself to the ground to grab his dropped weapon. Mara flipped her blade around and slashed it backhanded. It caught him in the bicep, tearing a large gash in his skin. Underneath the sleeve, Mara could see a Sith cult tattoo. The man gripped his vibroblade and started to stand.

"That's enough," Mara said.

She lifted him with the Force and shoved him against the wall, causing him to again drop his vibroblade. She slammed him into the wall twice more for emphasis, and then grabbed his collar.

"You're coming with me," she said. "There are some people who'd be very interested in questioning you."

 

That is vintage Mara No one does it better.

 

Very good. I would never want to be on the receiving end of her fight or her weapons. This guy surely didn't know her reputation.

Mara always rocks. I had hoped Disney would see that as well...
