Just made the request off yesterday, I am in!
That book cover looks like something from a fan film.
I saw this book a couple of times now, at Walmart and it's much cooler in person since a pic make you lose the foil look.
I will bring a carton of eggs.
Ok....so so far we have:
I'll be there.
Count me out, i'm not gonna support a CENSORED. He is another GL, he's got no respect for the fans "as long as he gets your MONEY, who cares". The least he could do is pretend that he likes the fans. He knows that fans will buy his BLIP no matter what, so he's gonna keep on doing it. I have no respect for people like that.
Me, I'll always be a StarWars fan, but im not giving any more $$$ to any of those guys . I'll support the Charity Events 'cuz is giving back to the community & he doesn't get $$$ from that (but i bet that if he could, he would). Plus if the event is for a good cause, im there.
money talks these days in all things...
and it keeps getting worse...
If you haven't bought the book yet, I would encourage you to buy it at that store. The success of these events is not only measured in the amount of people, but also (and more imporantly for the store) the amount of books sold.
I am most definitely buying a copy....
I'm sure we'd (Vince, Quincy & I) buy to book at some point anyway. It will be nice to have copy signed / personalized. Mr. Stover signed our copy of Shatterpoint to all of us too.
....must resist the temptation to read it before seeing the movie though.
That will be the real test of will power.
PLUS, we** need to read the story before this one first, if we** are going to read anything.
**Vince is the MAJOR reader in our family. He has read at least several of Mr. Stover's other non-Star Wars novels and enjoyed them very much. I'll probably have to pick up a copy of Labyrinth of Evil while at Borders.
If you don't buy it at the Borders on State, then come on out to the Schaumburg B&N and buy it there... for similar reasons that I can't discuss in detail yet.
i am not going now. please have fun and tell me all about it. send my kudos for the anakin realizing he is mechanical vader part. **sniffle** made me shed a tear
I'll try to be there.
I was taking a look at Matt Stover's blog. He mentions he'll be interviewed on Fox Thing in the Morning. It's on WFLD-TV (Channel 32) from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
anyone that can...
please try to make it...
Wish I could go but I have school. BLAST YOU SCHOOL!
Just got back.
He was very well behaved. I also met Schph_Gochi which was nice.
I got a signed book, a threepio pez dispenser, and a button. WOOOHoooOOOOO
What was attendance like? 10 people? 50? Ok, 10?
It was during regular work hours for some reason. I'm going to guess 15. Half of which were unemployed geeks.
Hey whats up everyone, I went to the signing, and it was bad a$$. It was kool meeting other Chicago Force members that i haven't met b4. Matt said that it took him a crazy 7 months that words couldn't describe it. I asked him what would he do to relax and take a brake from writing. He said,"I like to hit people"I was kool, then he said "Martial Arts".
Im going to guess there were 25-30 people there. All told.
and HEY... I'm not an un employed geek. Im a STUDENT geek. Theres a fine distinction to be made.
The chairs were filled....and there were folks standing in the aisles all over...
He read from the prologue of the book......he acknowledged the fact that some would rather remain spoiler free....his reading was very intense....and enjoyable....there were a few questions ..but there was little time for Q&A....he had quite a line of books to sign....and had to get to the airport and get to New York for an interview....we have a photo of him with his Chicago Force T-Shirt....and he posed out for photos out in front of the store....
There was really a nice turn out...and it was a very enjoyable day.....I am glad I was able to get off work to get down there...
