Bigger than imax?

Well, I've never been to the Imax but the logan hyperdome's site says -

"One of the screens in the expansion will boast Queenslands largest being 70m x 12m approx. State of the art seating will be included in the expansion and the cinemas will include a function entertainment area which customers can hire and entertain prior to the film screening. All 12 cinemas will include the absolute up to date sound facilities. and Australias first Star Club.A new Foyer entrance will also be part of the expansion"

Eh, Close to me, anywho...

 

hmm. The imax is listed as 25m, but it doesn't say if that is across, down or vertical. I know it is pretty bloody big.

Warrants further investigation.

 

Just a debatable point here.

Whilst I get excited about huge screens like everyone, I also would rather see a film clearly and without having to do do head aerobics to watch the thing. I also tend to get "movie" sick if I'm too close to a big screen, so the whole Imax thing may not be my ideal for the first Star Wars viewing, unless we were at the back somewhere.

 

Well I thought the Screen that we saw the third Matrix was too big in all honesty. As such anything that claims to be the biggest screen is just wasted on me as I would have to sit further back to compensate. As such I don't really see the point. There is such a thing as going too far. Bigger, does not always equal better.

 

No, Grieyls, it wasn't a big screen, we were sitting too close to the screen, iirc.

I'd have no worries seeing it at both places!

 

Considering the seating was all on the one level I doubt it would have mattered that much. The size in my oppinion was still over kill.

 

I know bigger is not always better, but they have done a really good job with this new screen. The seats are seat up great...way back from the screen so no matter where you sit it is good.

That said, I always sit between just behind "The small wall" to the back.

The cinema always has a reall good atmoshere on star wars middnight openings...

 

I try to sit one or two rows down from the 'horizontal' aisle, which would be a few rows down from the 'middle wall'.
That's where I find the least distruption from lighting - aisle, emergency exit, etc. Also can be one of the quieter places to sit. The top of the front section, but down from the middle walls.


Of course, if it's the Cineplex it's a different kettle of fish, altogether.
Especially the Imax screen.

also on MF.com it said that in the script HAN SOLO, helps Yoda get off Kashyyyk, and han was raised by chewie. This settles it. Georgy HAS lost his mind (well, Jar Jar kind of proved it too) .

I'm going to wait till I see the movie. The second one was so bad in parts that I'm almost certain that ROTS has to be better.

I saw a bodgy handheld camera copy of the new trailer today. Goosebumps! But obi wan's line is poxy. You'll know it when you see it.

It all sounds terribly interesting... Though I'm not sure that I'm going to enjoy sitting through two hours of HC. He really bugged me in ATOTC
