From her line to Han: "I didn't know there was this much green in the galaxy, " It seemed like she had heard from others about the various worlds lying beyond Jakku and around the galaxy, but she still remained on Jakku on the premise that one day her family was going to come get her back. Once she found out that wasn't happening, it was time to put Jakku behind her, and go to places she's never been.

I remember when Maz told Rey her family wasn't coming back, and she started tearing up, that scene made me feel so sorry for her. Daisy did a remarkable job that scene, made me want to give her a comforting hug

 

What about a blue double-bladed lightsaber?

Just to mention that option, I'm fine with every colour as long as it is not red for obvious reasons (and this is coming from someone who likes red ).

I loved Rey she was such an awesome character pretty good sort aswell

 

Yeah she seems like a real down to earth sort of lady she doesn't think that just because she is a celebrity that she is better then everyone she just seems like a fan aswell

And agreed. Seeing her Instagram video of her watching the TFA trailer, faintly flabbergasted at her appearance in it... Very down-to-earth.

I wouldn't mind see Rey join the dark side in some capacity, to be fair. I am rooting for her as the hero, but who's to say that to be dark is to be a villain?

 

Oh, she can for sure be tempted by the Dark Side as Luke was. They can even make her close to turning, but I just don't want her to become a full dark-sider because Rey as a hero is a role model for female fans, especially the younger ones.

I just can't imagine Rey going over to the Dark Side. She's so *good* and empathetic.

Oh, you! You're making me laugh.

I just don't see it. She's so nice. Although she was pretty fierce in that final fight against Ren. She could be drawing on the dark side without even knowing it. So while Ren is off earnestly trying to be bad, and failing, maybe Rey does slowly go to the dark side without realizing it - until it's too late. And then Ren gives up and turns back to the Light, and then rescues Rey from the Dark?

 

If Rey comes close to the dark side, I believe it would be Finn and/or Luke who would prevent her from going full-dark and not Kylo. Regarding Kylo, I think it would be interesting and refreshing if he stays dark side and doesn't get redeemed.

I have already started the formal process of adopting her. Now I just need to figure out a way to tell her...

If she is Luke's daughter, how did she develop an English accent?

 

Accents aren't inherited from the parents genetically. People develop them from the area they live in and the people around them. For example I'm canadian but if I went to live in Scotland or Ireland for a few years I would adapt and develop a Scottish/Irish accent.

 

Probably depends on the person as well. I'm from the US, been living in the UK over 20 years, and I still have my Yank accent..

Likewise, but I don't think it will happen until the ST is over. She's just too central and of too mysterious origins for them to flesh her out outside of films. For the moment.

 

Well, I think you can get a decent Rey on Jakku novel or a comic mini without tromping on her back story
