ST Rey's blaster

Anyone else noticed how Rey's blaster seems to be based on a mauser...WWI pistol....just the same as Han's?

 

Yes, that's one of the items on my "Why Rey is Han's Daughter" list.

 

Did Rey have the same blaster Han gave her at the end of the movie?

 

She had a blaster on a thigh holster, right side. it was pretty big? But im not entirely sure it was the same one unless Ben let her keep it during interrogation lol.

Edit: I think it may have been the same one, from what i could see it looked a heck of alot like it.

 

Yeah. That would be strange if he let her keep it. On the other hand, she did need the stormtrooper to drop his weapon, so maybe she got another pistol from the Resistance later on.

I noticed that Finn conveniently lost his gun at Maz's Castle, which opened the door to him looking bad when he was forced to wield the lightsaber.

 

I'm hoping that that particular type of blaster is like a snub-nose 38 or Colt 45...ie two a penny in a galaxy far far away because I find it a tad difficult to believe that she could recuperate hers from the forest... Must have just picked one up from stores, added a low-slung thigh holster (wink to Han again) for the final scene. Pretty common I'd say...Luke sports a similar blaster to Han in TESB...
Have to say though that it's rather easy to find ones weapon in a fight (Endor battle for example).......must have some kind of homing device!!!
