Before you all stop and say, "Wait a minute, Disney tossed his stories!" hear me out.

That's not completely true. They tossed his treatments for VII (scripts, plots) but everything else we have heard from the Story Group is that his overall story, is what is being moved forward.

Pablo Hidalgo stated that Rey, Snoke, and the First Order were all Lucas' ideas, and that the gist of the story was always about a "young girl finding her place in the Force."

He even confirms that Lucas passed his story to them, and they are moving his story forward.

With that said, can we take any clues about Rey's identity from George Lucas' personal life, given that her background was solidified way back when Lucas was working on the sequels?

I believe so, and that's the topic of this video:

    Too long didn't watch:

Lucas adopted 3/4 of his children. Only one is biological. I think this speaks to the idea that Lucas views "finding people to call your family" is as important as having a family, especially for those whose real families never worked out.

Daisy Ridley herself said she never thought her background was a mystery and that she was surprised at the discussion that came out of it. She said that what really makes Finn and Rey special is that they come from "nowhere" and yet find people to call their own.

Anyways, I hope that no matter who Rey is, we all enjoy the story.

    Cheers,

    Wayward Jedi

George Lucas said himself during the year before TFA was released his ST was to include the grandchildren (plural) of Darth Vader.

Episode VII George Lucas treatment thread

Besides the retired George Lucas, they aren't allowed or do not want to talk about anything in the treatment that hasn't been published before such as in the Art of TFA book, and the Making of TFA book has been squashed for the time being.

Hidalgo claims he will only talk about what's in the Art of TFA book.
The Art of TFA book withheld what George Lucas said publicly that his ST included.

Actually the FO is from JJ and Kasdan.

Passing his story and moving forward = Passing the torch to the new generation before his passing. He has nothing to do with the SWR storyline but it still has the same team that worked on TCW minus GL.

We already have threads for both Rey's lineage, and George's story treatment. Locking.
