I'm really interested as to why Luke's lightsaber called out to Rey if she isn't his daughter.

    Theories?

Anakin's lightsaber called out to his granddaughter. Rey is a Skywalker(Organa) on her mother's side.

    The will of the force.

    But she's totally Luke's daughter

I guess but maybe they're trying to trick us? Idk? Because from the trailer it looked like Finn was going to be a Jedi because of his use of the lightsaber. But actually Rey was.

Where does it say that shes a Skywalker organa lmao

The lightsaber called her by mistake... it's like it dialed the wrong number...

It's strongly implied and would fit. Why trick the audience when it's something that can be a good story developement?

It looks likely, but then it would mean that Luke committed the same mistake as his father by abandoning the Jedi code in order to have children. And it's hard to imagine a good excuse for him not finding her, if he is to be counted as a decent father. I hope they don't ignore these issues, if it does turn out to be so.

But Luke can still be a father-figure even if he's not actually her father.

Luke doesn't know anything about a Jedi code that says he can't smash.

He was trained by Yoda, of course he'd know the code of the Jedi.

I don't think Yoda and Luke ever had "the talk."

I disagree. Too obvious. I think she is a Solo.

"Too obvious" is such a bizarre reason to reject an idea.

I hope she isn't related to either of them... I just hope Rey genuinely came from a poverty-stricken background and her parents were killed during her childhood. It would be nice having her as the 'chosen one' by the will of the force alone, and not being hereditary. Not everyone has to be related to everyone in Star Wars. I think it's coming of the age where we have to look beyond the Skywalker family. :)

I don't think she's a Solo. I think Leia wouldve been able to sense it if she was.

Because The Force wanted her to find Luke and be trained by him. Or something.
