"New ships give hope?" Really? Even if one pretends that Kylo's shuttle, Rey's ship, the quad jumper, the T-70 X-wings and the various new troop transports weren't "new ships," that's still an awful metric for determining interest in a movie.

 

If you read that guy's continued tweeting in that conversation, he is clearly an idiot.

If there were an epic war between SW Plot Holes and SW Retcons, which side do you think would prevail?

 

I think his first tweet made that pretty clear.

 

I love his unsubtle but implied pitch for a job with the story group. As ever, the Dunning-Kruger effect is strong with sections of the fanbase. I'm amazed at Rian's patience.

 

Rian's reply to that stupid tweet is amazing. So the tweeter hates plotholes, but new ships are enough to improve a movie? Get out!

Whenever someone hates the recent two SW movies, and they provide incredibly stupid arguments why....it just reassures me how good the two new SW movies are.

It's like whenever you hear ... " KYLO GOT BEAT SO EASILY...IT'S SO STUPID. BAD MOVIE!"

Yeah, but I mean they really really really focused on him getting shot with a very powerful weapon, and then proceeded to focus in on the wound and blood falling on the snow. If that doesn't make it clear he's weakened quite a bit then I don't know what else would.

People have really out there approaches to proving something sucks.

 

People sees kylo at the same level of Vader or Count Dooku, which is a mistake

 

LOL - that was a good laugh. Rian, is my kind of guy.... the subtle snark you can use to call someone an idiot without them even realizing you just called them an idiot

 

But he writes, so he gets how stories flow.

 

Stories flow like new ships, so he's right.

 

Writing leads to stories, stories lead to new ships, new ships lead to... hope.

I love that Snow White moment dearly and always pisses me off when it's dismissed. It's such un-Star Wars scene but such fairytales/fantasy/myths-that-inspired-Star Wars one. Beautiful.




I love the rose petals in the snow look of it.

 

That WAS a beautiful touch, no matter what one thinks of Kylo, imo.

 

Exhibit A why multi-generational super-powered families are way WAY more interesting than endless stories about a seeminly-immortal superhero!

A Chorus of Disapproval

A moment that I also like to call "Yay, PT is definitely not ignored in ST". They are connecting those 2 trilogies through this character and incorporating them into ST really well.
