Someone just told me that they have found his body under the Severn Bridge. At least if it's true then his family can finally rest now... still not good news though even though I'm not a huge Manics fan!

The BBC Wales Web-page says that tests on the skeleton show that it is not him.

i heard confirmations it wasn't him before i heard they found a body they suspected was Richey. a few years ago they thought they found his feet in the Severn but they're still not sure, pretty nasty. i still don't know if i think he's dead or not, it's just as likely he just disappeared either way it's a great loss

he's working in our tesco's... though when i say working he seems to jus stand about looking weird and doin nothing while the rest cover for him- a bit like when he was in the Manics.

Anyway since when has someone needed any ability to make it as a busker.

they haven't, but at least they attempt to play. it's not busking when you just stand there looking pretty and occasionally mutialte yourself

incidentally i'm seeing the three-piece Manics this Friday, woooooo!!!

I trust that you will not be quite so scathing of the ability of Mr Edwards in the company of your fellow MSP's fans.

it's not scathing, it's merely the truth. Richey only learnt very basic guitar towards the end of his life (or time in the public eye if he's not dead) and never got involved in the recording process. he was merely there to write the lyrics and give the band their image. the guitar was merely a prop for him onstage until just before the end and then his contribution wasn't huge, but it doesn't make him any less of a great artist. plus attacking what people hold dear is what the manics used to be about in the early days

In this case it's the same thing but I did know a couple of MSP's fans who used to get very upset at hearing such things.

point taken, and the truth does hurt. i think he was a great a songwriter (in my opinion the best who ever lived) but by no stretch of the imagination was he a good musician
