I found a website with this little two-second tune that I would like to use. How do you record from a website?

Throw up a link to the site, I'll see if I can grab it for you. It's kind of a long process.

We call it Sith-Lord_James, he's a program from the machine world. He has a weird moustache.

Did you try looking at the code for the page to see if you can find the name of the music file?

your best bet on flash files is to get a flash decomposer/ripper of some sort. That or just switch your recording input to Stereo Wav Mix, and use sound recorder.

Just do what bgii_2000 suggested. It's the easiest way to go. Use a program like Audacity or Goldwave that records wav files and set your mixer device to record input via Stereo Mix and you can capture the audio as it's playing. Honestly, that's the simpliest way to go.

Well, Firefox will work if there is no image component of the .swf (I'm not sure how you would go about separating the audio and video in a flash movie). You can look at the page info (under Tools), and under the Media tab, there will be a list of the graphics/media on the page. Select the file you want, then hit download. This works nicely for most embedded media files.

Otherwise, use the link that Darthviper posted.
