Thuro: Underlord, we have a situation... Darth Master Titus has been captured by Zorilla the Hutt. Zorilla sais she's willing to release Darth Master Titus if Black Sun pulls away from Ryloth. I have already contacted Orman Tagge, our Vigo stationed on Ryloth, about this matter. Personnally, I do not trust Zorilla the Hutt at all. She probably wants to lure us into a trap... The destruction of her pirate fleet has made her very angry, making her want revenge. I think she wants to lure us out into the open and strike Black Sun the final blow.

How shall we deal with this matter, fellow Vigos? There must be a way to turn the situation back into our advantage.

Terms of our surrender!? I will die before I surrender to a slug...
Let us hope Titus does not break. He has too much important information. The only courses I see are to either eliminate him or unite with the Besadii quickly and without hesitation.

Allies must be made or lost now.

The Star Wars Archivist: Zorilla the Hutt will probably have asked the other Hutt clans for more military forces. Perhaps, Black Sun could persuade the Besadii clan to withdraw their forces?

I also think if Zorilla wants to involve the Republic, we should give her the Republic... If you know what I mean.

Scholomancer: Welcome to the Black Sun game! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Our Underlord, Mr. Blue (Thuro), will assign you a position in the organization. Do you have any preferences? There still are many spots you could fill. Some suggestions: piracy, spice production, slave trade... As long as it has anything to do with a criminal organization, almost everything is allowed. The positions which already have been taken can be found on page 2 of the thread.

A short summary of events that occured in-game can be found on page 10. Momentarily, Black Sun has made two new enemies: Trillian Banjeer (Republic) and Zorilla the Hutt (Hutt cartels). The rulebook can be found on page 1.

Hello, I skimmed through the thread, it looks good. If it's free I'd gladly accept piracy and the slave trade. I should be able to start in on action against the Hutts and the Republic agent soon.

The Besadii should not be too difficult to persuade.. Hutts do not stay friends for long. Perhaps Thuro could begin negotiations?

If we cannot come to an agreement. I am happy to bring the might of Black Sun down on those who would oppose us.

I can provide an audience with the Besadii kadjiic for any Vigo who wishes to negotiate with them. I think we can all agree that bowing to Zorilla's demands is out of the question. General Immodet also mentioned involving the Republic to strike back at the Hutt cartel. This has worked for us in the past when Darth Master Titus planted the false info in the Jedi archives in order to provoke them into attacking the Hutts. Perhaps we could try a similar tactic against Zorilla.

OOC: Welcome to the game Scholomancer and congratulations on joining Black Sun! If you have any questions about the game or any plot ideas feel free to contact me or General Immodet.

The deadline is approaching, Vigos. The life of Darth Master Titus is at stake. He has been captured by Zorilla the Hutt, who is out for revenge.

Shadow Trooper: Could you meet with the Besadii clan and ask them to secretly withdraw their support from Zorilla?

The Star Wars Archivist: If Black Sun were to lure Banjeer's task force to Allyuen, Zorilla would be getting more than she can handle. Could you as commander of the Black Sun military devise a plan to rescue Darth Master Titus while Zorilla's forces are occupied? Do you think there is any chance we can get him out alive?

Scholomancer: Maybe Black Sun should think of the bigger picture. While Zorilla's forces are occupied on Allyuen, her holdings will be left less protected. Could your pirate fleet perhaps profit from that information?

Vigos, it is important that we all coordinate our actions. All those events must occur more or less at the same time.

General Immodet It will be done. Both of my Besadii and Desjilac informants tell me that these two main kadjiics are annoyed by Zorilla's rise to power. Apparently she was the clan leader of a minor kadjiic until her victories against us gained her the support of the Hutt council. I will contact Durga with a deal to withdraw Besadii support for Zorilla.

Pending my confirmation as Vigo, I will be delighted in surveying and capitalizing on the Hutt's temerity in killing and capturing our leadership!

By attacking their space lanes and raiding certain outposts, they will be forced to either divert their hired guns and ships to protect their businesses or suffer losses.

In addition, I will provide a summary of my sector and operations for the Overlord's approval, and propose a number of counter-strikes against the Hutt Cartel.

Titus kept an emotionless face as Zorilla wormed her way around the prison cell, staring intently at her prisoner. Under his visage, Titus feared his time in this galaxy was over, afraid his transmission to his fellow Vigos did not go through. Or worse; they did get the transmission but they decided not to come to his rescue. He could not fault them if that was what truly happened. Sacrificing one for the sake of all was the greater picture. But he still held onto the hope of being rescued. Titus, no matter how fierce in battle, was afraid of death, knowing he has much to contribute to the Black Sun.

"It seems like your friends have given up on you. Commendable, seeing how you have failed to kill me, so now you pay with your life." Zorilla was gloating, gloating that she had captured a Vigo of the Black Sun.

Titus was fed up with the slugs' games. "Ah, they'll be here soon enough. You will meet a similar fate as Gargonn, Zorilla. Much deserved."

Time was running out, and Titus knew it.

I have gotten word back from Durga the Hutt. Our refusal to cave to Zorilla's demands has raised some concerns about her leadership among the Hutt Kadjiic. Durga is willing to give us the co-ordinates to the location where Zorilla intends to trade Titus to Banjeer, but in return for this information, he has demanded our assistance in capturing Klatooine from one of his rivals in the Hutt cartel.

OOC: This is as much for me as it is for you! It may be overly detailed but I like having some structure to operate from:

    Ord Mantell, Bright Jewel Cluster:

    Bases, assets and allies:
I am based out of Ord Mantell, but with a dozen outposts devoted to piracy on different planets and space stations throughout the galaxy. Only the Ord Mantell compound is high-profile - it has compound shields, with turrets and heavily armed and armoured mercenaries guarding the perimeter. Inside, Black Sun core members monitor the internal defences. The outposts are usually in low-key areas on planets and stations, and ideally remote from any centres of population. These usually have passive sensors and a few Black Sun pirates or core members on guard. We of course use the other outposts of Black Sun - smuggling docking ports and warehouses, our military barracks areas, and sometime's Black Sun's legal fronts and shipping concerns as staging grounds and refit areas for our pirates.

Black Sun shipjackers, slaver and pirate groups use these bases to range throughout the inter-system and inter-sector hyperlanes. Our attacks on the galactic hyperlanes such as the Hydian Way are rarer and far better planned; those attract the attention of the Republic and the Jedi.

In addition to our own groups and outposts, we have many "friendly" pirate and mercenary groups who do services for us, or shelter our members, in exchange for a portion of the profit, outright pay, or for mutual favours. Black Sun agents also make extensive use of the local shadowports, where we sell many of the goods and captives into enslavement. We also run much of the black markets in these areas with our smuggling and piracy operations.

On certain planets and deep space stations, we have "arrangements" with authorities for a blind eye, and sometimes information, in return for some of the profit. Some planets and even galactic corporations pay a "premium" directly to our fronts to avoid attacks on us. Occasionally they come to us for "resolution" of their other pirate problems.

Black Sun, in this region, has no military-grade capital ships; rather we have Large armed merchant freighters and Bulk cruisers with sufficient snubfighter escort, as well as a number of subcapital ships like transports and light freighters, for deep-space boarding and shipjacking actions. Our smaller groups operate with a Corellian Corvette or two with a few snubfighters apiece.

Overall, there are over 40 Black Sun and Black Sun-affiliated pirate groups, each with their own large freighter or bulk cruiser as command ship. Each group has a couple of squadrons of snubfighters for escort or disabling duties, and transports and light freighters to ferry over armed boarders and shipjackers.

    Enemies, Neutrals and Challenges:
Ord Mantell is considered part of the Republic's frontier; from Ord Mantell the rays of the Black Sun shine on both sides of the border. The Republic and the Jedi have jurisdiction here but Ord Mantell is far from Coruscant and local administrators are "friendly" to our interests. It is a different matter throughout the galaxy; in the Core Worlds Republic presence is heavy, while in the Mid-Rim law enforcement is more on the shoulders of regional and system authorities. The high-profile operations attract the ire of the Republic and the Jedi, and some of our pirate groups have fallen to their guns and lightsabers. Overall, we have

We face competitors and encroachments from other groups, such as the Hutt cartel, but other regional players such as the remnants of the Exchange, and the Car'das group. There are certain areas we cannot penetrate for long, such as Hutt Space. There we are reduced to hit and run raids and attacks on Hutt business concerns.

A rising concern is the recent Republic bill that allows galactic corporations to arm their planetary and interplanetary space interests. They have begun to produce freighters that are in fact warships in size, defences and armament. The Trade Federation in particular has massively expanded their military might, and have reduced the profitability of seizing these ships. I have begun analyzing their equipment for weaknesses, and in the near future hope to capture some of these for ourselves!

Overall, Black Sun pirate operations have held their own, and proven quite profitable as ever.

Thuro, Shadowtrooper, The Star Wars Archivist:

I will direct my pirate groups in the sectors around Alluyen to hit legitimate and illegitimate Hutt-owned businesses. They either take a loss of their income or divert their military strength to protect their interests. Ideally, our own Black Sun operatives and military can find reduced odds in our rescue operation.

I also have a plan, subject to the Overlord's approval:

At a well-used hyperspace point on one of the galactic hyperlanes, we capture a passenger liner full of beings belonging to one of the Republic's biggest shipping corporations. No doubt there will be some influential citizens, on the ship and the Republic and the Jedi will rush to help. Meanwhile we loot the ship and take some of the passengers for enslavement, while leaving ship, and clues who did it, in Hutt Space. An incident of that magnitude, even if the ruse is discovered, will temporarily at least divert attention from us and on to the Hutts.

Shadow Trooper: Let Durga the Hutt know we want him to help Black Sun first. If he gives us information on Zorilla's plans, than we shall assist him in taking Klatooine.

Scholomancer: Thank you for giving us an update on your situation. The time has come to rescue our fellow Vigo, Darth Master Titus. We will be needing you to attack Zorilla's holdings very soon. I am sure our Underlord, Thuro, will take a look at your plan to frame the Hutts. Although I think that matter should be handled most carefully, most certainly now we have made a deal with the Besadii clan.

The Star Wars Archivist: Have you already devised a plan? The deadline is approaching, so we have no more time to waste.

According to Durga, Zorilla has contacted the Republic with the offer. The Hutt Cartel's leaders are rather worried about this development. They were fine with her using the Republic as a threat to win them Ryloth, but they are weary about actually making a deal with Republic Law enforcement. Banjeer is a zealot and incorruptible and many of the Hutt's leaders believe it is very likely that he will try and arrest them rather than paying for their captive. Despite their concerns, they are committed to following through. When we called their bluff we forced Zorilla to either carry out her threats or look weak. Zorilla may have just given us the (Very long) rope to strangle her with. If we can sabotage these negotiations, make them look like Zorilla was using them as a pretense to ambush Banjeer, we have an opportunity of recapturing Titus, discrediting Zorilla and turning Banjeer's forces against the Hutt cartel all in one fell swoop.

    Alluyen Sector:

The small convoy of freighter craft exited hyperspace at the nav buoys. Around them, other transports, liners and freighters used the buoys to safely navigate around the massive N'meer Nebula, that cauldron of new stars and shifting hyperlanes.

Suddenly, a pair of Corellian Corvettes and a small squadron of snubfighters decanted from hyperspace. A voice, distorted by the transmitter, rang out demands.

"Glittering Jewels ships! Power down your craft or be destroyed!"

Suddenly, the nav exchange erupted with ships diving for the hyperspace vectors provided by the buoys, or diving for emergency vectors. Several too close to the pirate vessels snapped on their shields and began evasions, but the pirate Corvettes and fighter focused on the hapless freighters, themselves diving for their hyperspace points.

A rough voice from the freighters rasped:

"Sector authorities have been alerted! And you don't know who you're messing with, pirate scum."

"Actually, we do," the flat electronic voice responded, "You are shipping for Glittering Jewel Lines, owned by a one Zorilla the Hutt."

A moment's silence: "Then you know what trouble you are bringing on yourselves, pirate scum."

"I'll make sure he knows Black Sun was here for her."

Turbolaser fire began lancing out from the corvette dorsal turrets while the snubfighters began attack runs.

    Black Sun Compound, Ord Mantell

The hologram projector faded the image from the last grinning pirate captain. Scholomancer stepped into his own projector.

"My fellow Vigos, it has begun. Zorilla's shipping around the Alluyen Sector has been captured in multiple locations."

Bulk cruiser Enslaver, enroute to Alluyen Sector:

The Quarren in the holoprojector looked to one side; the projection itself wavered and flickered.

"Flail 2 pull, in! Okinu, watch the fighters coming in from 23 degrees!"

Scholomancer knew better than to distract his lead captain, and could easily imagine the Okinu rolling to expose it's main battery to the fighters. Once the captain satisfied that the battle was going well, continued:

"Sir, the second wave of our attacks have run into resistance. Military-grade ships and fighters have responded to our attacks at Derrilyn, Unbo and at the Javen navbuoy. Here at the Ecoko jumpoint flights of starfighters oppose us. We should be able to destroy them before the freighters leave the asteroid field."

Scholomancer had had enough however. With the rising levels of resistance, and the defeat of another group at the Glittering Jewels freight yard, it was time to regroup.

"Captain, pull your group back and join with the Lupo Group."

The Quarren looked scandalized: "Sir, there is no profit in withdrawing! We can seize these ships!"

    At this, Scholomancer was stern:

"Captain, there are plans within plans. I need your beings and ships battleworthy for more profitable targets in the next round."

It was only this lure of greater profit that convinced the old pirate to pull his ships back.

Zorilla: I thought we were here to make a deal, commander. Insulting each other will not help the matter.

Banjeer: You say you have captured a Black Sun Vigo... If you hand him over to me, I will make sure you get a fair trial.

Zorilla: Save your empty threats for someone else.

Banjeer: I demand you to hand over the Vigo NOW! Or my forces will apprehend you.

Zorilla: Do you really think I keep this Vigo locked away in a space cruiser? No, Darth Master Titus has been transported to a facility of mine on-planet.

Banjeer: Then, I recommend you to get him. Otherwise, you will see that I am not much of a joker.

OOC: Sorry for being out the game as of late, real life has been busy.
    IC:
Black Sun troops had begun landing on Alluyen... while Banjeer and Zorilla attempted to outsmart each other they found themselves both outsmarted by the galaxy's greatest crime syndicate, whose soldiers managed to pass by unseen. Now was the time to execute the plan. Titus would soon be free.

A holomap was opened and The Star Wars Archivist gave his soldiers instructions. In the coming hours, they would wait for the cover of darkness. Scouts had been dispatched to check enemy territory and take a rough count of the opposition. Zorilla's base was previously located, and surprisingly heavily guarded. They were slightly outnumbered.

The Hutt had built a complex but badly constructed facility. Soldiers were quick to expose the bases' weak point, a durasteel hatch at the bottom of a very, very large pool of a water. Not a problem for the B-18 thermal detonators recently acquired from SoroSuub. A large shaft leading downwards from the hatch began to flood. An alarm could be heard.

Communications were jammed and Zorilla was left oblivious to what was happening on the surface of Alluyen. His men were in complete disarray. Some used escape lifts to get away from the subterranean chaos. They were shot down, while the rest drowned or ran away in fear.

The flooding eventually stopped when the pool was left dry. Although one section of the base was hopelessly wrecked, earlier scouting had revealed there was likely to be at least one other area that this weak point would not be able to get to. That was most likely where Titus was being kept.

Soldiers began climbing down the ladder of the dripping shaft. Dead bodies lay on the floor around them, and one high ranking mercenary could be seen among them. A code was grabbed from his hands. The code to the torture chambers.

After walking down a long tunnel, they saw Zorilla's prisons (kept safe from the floods by their blast doors). The wide corridor confined many on each side, but there was a stairway that lead up to Titus' prison.

The code was entered, and there was Titus, bruised and bloody, struggling to keep himself conscious. The Star Wars Archivist laughed.

    "Get him to the ship."

As the extraction ships are lifting off, one of Zorilla's captains detects them on his instruments. "My lady, we have unidentified ships coming from the surface of Alluyen!" "What!" The Hutt was furious. "So Banjeer was trying to two time me huh? Distract me with the pretense of a deal while his covert troops tried to steal my prize. All ships, Open Fire on those transports!"

    Meanwhile on The Justifier...
"Commander Banjeer, the Hutt ships are charging their weapons" the tactical officer informed Banjeer.
Banjeer smiles. He was hoping that the Hutt wouldn't surrender peacefully. "We all expected treachery. I would expect no less from criminal scum. Ready the cannons and deploy our fighters!"
Lances of Turbolaser fire and a hail of missiles smash against the unprepared ships of Zorilla's fleet. The remaining Hutt ships attempt to form up for a counter attack, but many of them are too crippled to fight after Banjeer's devastating Salvo. In the confusion, Black Sun's ships are able to slip back into hyperspace.
